Ashley Barnes got double figures a couple of times.

Andre Gray did in his one season.

And they all cost less than Cenk Tosun, Maupay and some of the other dross you’ve had recently.

I’ll say it again ….. you’re in no position to turn your nose up at Dyche. You’re in an absolute mess and the sooner you realise it the better.

The other thing ….. he’s had the balls to take the job despite that. He’s not asked for two months working with your U21’s first.

Get behind him. It’s your only chance.
i think this guy is talking some sense. I think we are all just terrified of the inevitable, but we gotta get behind him. Hopefully, he will at least invoke some passion.

Ok so it was the point about the style of football?

Since Martinez’s first season, we’ve been great haven’t we and playing like galactico’s.

The only reason we got anywhere with Carlo was when he realised we were basically crap and made us difficult to beat by playing 4 centre halves across the back 4
L O L

Yes and we won those games because we had flashes of brilliance.

What we got now Thomas? You see how the 2 correlate, a manager known for not going out of his way to create chances dumped into a team that can't create chances

I hope to be proven wrong but i personally feel it's a bad appointment.

That view has nothing to do with style of football but more of a comparison between his Burnley side from last season and the side he would inherit here and i honestly don't think there is much difference in ability between the 2 and he couldn't get them out of trouble.

I also don't think he's the type of guy to challenge those above his role, he seemed pretty comfortable at Burnley for years shopping almost exclusively in the UK and we already have a massive issue in terms of recruitment structure at the club.

I was thinking that last night as well. Dyche will be happy to have the job and just be a yes man for the club. Someone like Bielsa would actually challenge the club and push for change

Didn’t he say that at the Goodison game, which we won? He wasn’t Burnley manager when they beat us at Turf Moor
Could have sworn it was at Burnley...

Dyche told Sky Sports: "I've been down there, I know what it's like and every season there have been tough patches for us. It's hard to explain, but sometimes you sense that a team might have lost how to win a game. I said to them at half time 'I'm not sure these know how to win a game, away from home particularly'.

"I told them we've got to play on that mentality - we do it by playing forward with better quality and being more aggressive in our play. Our passing and trying to get into the front areas of the pitch wasn't glorious but there were patches and enough patches where we found three goals and I'm pleased with that.

And he's stepping in here it seems, with none of the luxuries he enjoyed at Burnley and even less of what we had last term.

Sean Midas Dyche. coining it now...

It's the right appointment at the right time.

Of course you wouldn't; because he's playing better football and you can see a clearer vision
At a lower level against poorer teams.

Massive step up to the Prem. We’re brilliant to watch this season but we’ll struggle hugely next year again. Just the nature of the beast.

Dyche had Burnley win games at United, City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea in his time with us. That’s crackers for a club our size.

Hard for me to accept giving him a 2 and a half year contract. We are still stuck in the stone ages with hirings like this. Is this what we want Everton to become? This is another bandaid hire hoping to patch things up for now until we finally get a clue down the line.

I don’ t think he is going to magically turn this around. The team is [Poor language removed] and in my opinion we will have another coach we will be paying off early in about a years time.

I hope I’m wrong.

Comparing the line ups on paper we should have won easily. Shows Dyche has what it takes. Hopefully with a few signings he can turn it around.
