Could have sworn it was at Burnley...

Dyche told Sky Sports: "I've been down there, I know what it's like and every season there have been tough patches for us. It's hard to explain, but sometimes you sense that a team might have lost how to win a game. I said to them at half time 'I'm not sure these know how to win a game, away from home particularly'.

"I told them we've got to play on that mentality - we do it by playing forward with better quality and being more aggressive in our play. Our passing and trying to get into the front areas of the pitch wasn't glorious but there were patches and enough patches where we found three goals and I'm pleased with that.

And he's stepping in here it seems, with none of the luxuries he enjoyed at Burnley and even less of what we had last term.

Sean Midas Dyche. coining it now...
Yeah I realised I was talking out of my hoop shortly after posting that, I deleted it but you were too quick ?

At a lower level against poorer teams.

Massive step up to the Prem. We’re brilliant to watch this season but we’ll struggle hugely next year again. Just the nature of the beast.

Dyche had Burnley win games at United, City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea in his time with us. That’s crackers for a club our size.
Since you love Dyche so much, have you switched colours to being an Everton fan then? lol

Brighton, by the way, for all the smoke blown up their arse, have never finished as high as 7th.

Which Burnley did under Dyche.

The hipsters won’t like you for this

Dinosaurs Moyes and Ranieri are still the only two managers to break the top 4 playing low block counter attack football.

If you have ambition, a clear plan and good management you can achieve anything.

Not scrape by and be grateful of beating United

The time for this was years and years ago Chris. We are what we currently are thanks to our owner and board and Dyche coming in mid season to try and scrape ur survival for the second season running is just a symptom of this. It’s just too late to be thinking about ambition and success. We’re in a Sunderland-esque survival mode from season to season while we sell off our assets one by one.

It is what it is. We've gone for the shorter term pragmatic approach The appointment who doesn't fit the wider "strategic plan" being implemented across the club and has led to hirings and firings across the last 12 months to implement it. We've gone for the Brexit ball option who the Park End arl sods will love. We've opted for the middle-of-the-road approach. Is it safer in the short term? Probably. Does this appointment give me any optimism that a longer term plan exists? Absolutely not.
In fairness though, there’s something to be said for keeping the Park End dars happy

And fair play for them for managing to do that. But did they sustain it, or build on it? Nope. Because those kind of managers can't develop things like innovative coaches.

Tired of the sexy managerial choice. Everton has been so desperate since moyes to prove something to rest of Europe about who we are.
Bring in dyche to secure safety and stabilize the least stable club in the world

I was thinking that last night as well. Dyche will be happy to have the job and just be a yes man for the club. Someone like Bielsa would actually challenge the club and push for change
That may happen but no manager stays long enough to be able to wield leverage here.

The only way to get that at a club like Everton is to at least slightly exceed expectations over a longer period and have the fans on side. And then it's only a possible as Moshiri fancies his own opinion about everything.

Moyes had that leverage with Kenwright but he didn't use it effectively and preferred to linger.

It's a moot point if Dyche isn't here long enough but if he is then at least it's a sign that he would be doing ok. He has to manage day to day and game by game and worry about the big picture later, if he's lucky.
