I don't think we are wanting or accepting were going down, no matter what. We'd of left Lampard in, if that's the case. I replying to the, hopefully we we won't run out of games comment.
If we have run out of games then I think he would be a good manager to bring us back up. We still pretty much have half the season left, its hard to feel optimistic after what we have seen on the pitch in the last 18 months. I think a decent performance against Arsenal will do us wonders. even if we dont win that game we just need to feel that the team is better than the performances against Southampton and West Ham made us feel because that was utterly depressing

Like I’ve said I don’t think he even lasts the season - we shall see
A source very close to the club says he is gone if we lose the next two. Another impeccable informant says it depends more on the size of the defeats. Apparently (that dreaded word again), Dyche has agreed in principle to walk without being pushed when the trap door is heard to creak open. So you are a winner whatever transpires.

How do you know these things are dragged on needlessly? I admit I know nothing of the intricasies of contracts, negotiations etc. Clearly you do know, so please explain which particular aspects of the process were needless and have wasted time? Everton might be glad of your advice next time around, so don't be shy.

We seem to take an age to close deals and make decisions. We lost a deal for Danjuma partially due to this.

They waited until Monday to Sack Lampard, and Thursday to interview Bielsa/Dyche. This was relatively quick compared to the last 2 appointments, but when there are days left in a window, this adds up.

More broadly, I dont see any strategy that has a 6 week gap, where you back a manager, and back him for a further 2 months, only to sack him with a week of the window left, having bot closed any deals.

I'm not sure if it's a waste of time, but it is poor planning allied to what seems a lack of proactivity.

We seem to be going into the last 48 hours of a window to get players in we need, which feels an enormous risk. Maybe we get lucky and get the 3 or 4 we need, but more often than not you place to much strain on the system and it folds.

We did similar in the summer, dragging the agreement of Gana and Garner to the last minute, and not filling the brief of replacing the key man we sold. I cant help but feel the time wasted on finalising the formalities on those deals, could have been better utilised in acquiring a replacement.

That's just how I see it though. I don't talk as an expert who can offer help, but a frustrated, alarmed and a little desperate fan. I dont see the urgency I would want from them, and what I would try to give in my job if things were going so badly. Again it's just my impression. If you feel its wholly inaccurate I'm very open to the counter perspective.

If this delay in the announcement is because he's getting straight down to work on transfers etc. then fair enough I say

It 100% won’t be that.
Really hope we are doing deals, but can also see him getting the job by saying he would work with what he had in the squad.

This is why we are goosed - a proper DoF model would be buying players for HIS system and plan - not for whichever manager the barmpot chairman has decided to bring in.

Sean Dyche. Why not present him under the Hellraiser theme, with pinhead figures. Oh, thats right, theres no need since hes gonna promote Keane as captain. I feel sorry for you Everton fans.

No, i jumped this ship half a year ago. Im not into S and M and watching Michael Keane in a football team resembles that. Still, i hoped for good fortunes but Lampard was out of it. And now Dyche. With him the ride with Sam Allardyce will seem like modern football.

If this useless board could actually plan ahead, they would have binned Frank after the Bournemouth games, those performances were the worst I have ever seen in in 50 odd years, they could have got Bielsa before the world cup with time to assess the squad and plan for the January window. This board are really useless.

Said something similar in the transfer thread but I'll repeat if we had sacked Lampard after Bournemouth when 16th and two places above the drop zone it would have be spun in the media as Everton not giving managers enough time to succeed. All you then do is reduce the choices for the next appointment and so on.

We were able in the past to act early on Koeman and Silva - Allardyce falls into a different category but still another short stint - in part due to having 2 managers over a 13 year period before that. Once you get that reputation then you have to try and reverse it before that becomes detrimental in everything we do. Because of that we had to take the pain of both Benitez and Lampard to show you get the maximum amount of time to try and turn it around. I don't think on either anyone can say we didn't.

We desperately need someone to be here for 2 complete seasons to restore the sense we are a club that doesn't just burn through managers and that is just as important as balancing the books to allow us to spend similar to the clubs around us free from penalty. Only when we have both of those things will we get a manager that we think is deserving of our status.

Interesting from Ross Wallace about the way Sean Dyche likes to Manage players.

"His biggest strength was man-management. He was very lively, bubbly. He would speak to players one-on-one. You weren’t left in any doubt about what was expected. Any player who doesn’t do what they’re asked won’t be in the team."
