Listened to the whole thing now.

I wish I could say I feel inspired, or pleased, or even less concerned.

But I came away with the overriding impression that he’s a simple man with simple ideas.

It got very close to the infuriating cliche that “football is a simple game.”

It’s not, I’ve watched it for decades and still don’t have the capacity to fully understand the tactical complexities of any match I watch.

I’ll back him - we all need to - but I’m not filled with confidence.
Unfortunately it is a simple game, and most of the time the team with the better players win. Tactics usually play to the teams strengths but a team with very poor players will always get relegated. We hardly ever shoot, so if a manager came in and asked players to get the ball forward and shoot on sight.

Sorry but you're asking me to tell a grown adult how to behave with an ounce of decorum and self-respect?

I'd been in support of virtually any protest provided it's peaceful and respectful. Empty seats - fans not turning up. Leaving at half time etc. But the fans body organising needs to take responsibility and call out abhorrent behaviour such as the scallies hassling Gordon. They should be banned from Goodison etc.
I'm pretty sure the organisers of the protest didn't organise road blocks. What are you on about?

Assume you've been at the match when this has been going on? Toxic is the perfect word. Those scallies that hounded Gordon are not reflective of the whole fanbase of course not but they are of a material minority - maybe 10% of home games but probably 50% of aways.

They've been attacked verbally for sure. What was the actual club statement alleging a physical attack?
No further comment from me, your view is toxic too me.

I don't hate him, I feel sorry for him.
No need to feel sorry for a man guaranteed about £7m regardless of his performance. I've said all along I think he'll end up getting 30 months (2.5 years) of pay for 5 months' work after he's sacked in the summer once we finish 20th. A tight 18th place finish could possibly see him stay on, but the fans will see that he's sacked if he has us finish bottom, which is a very real possibility. He'll be laughing all the way to the bank and knows there's a great chance he's back available to work with many millions of pounds paid into his bank this summer.

How do you know they were at the match?

"We hardly ever shoot" - well let's get a manager with fewer premier league goals on his record than premier league matches, that'll sort it out.

Dreadful appointment.

Get up wrong side of the bed today mate!

No not at all I'm fine thanks. I just hate this aggressive tone as I only see it making the situation worse. I go to a good proportion of games with my elderly dad, his old mate and my children. It's getting to the level now where I just don't want to take these fairly vulnerable people to the match despite them being dead set blues. Then the idea of petrol being poured on the flames by so called fans that rarely if ever actually attend games is not just laughable but is actually really bad. Self awareness isn't their strong point though @MikeH72

and that is fine!

but allowing the Board to ruin the club is not fine

I'm not advocating doing nothing. This board and this owner are hopeless. I'm simply saying it needs to be done in a better way.

True. I suspect that's not how he sees it himself, though. Plus, there's more to life than money. He won't get a job at Marine once we're done with him, n' all.

There we go, trying to skirt around it. Have some balls and own it will you. This is what you said on the matter, when people were discussing if it happened or not (i.e. Denise being assaulted)

There's no way this is totally made up. Anyone thinking it is are likely the same ones that deny climate change and think the earth is flat.

So PROVIDE EVIDENCE

No one else will take it mate because the board have sacked too many managers. Look at the last four candidates, Vitor, Lampard, Dyche, and Bielsa.
