2022/23 Sean Dyche

Didn’t want him, still don’t think he’s the long term answer, but fair play to him yesterday injecting shape and energy into the team in such a short time

I’ll reserve judgement until the end of the season

Perhaps he is the new Moyesiah, or maybe he’s just a very ginger boy
Best time to do it or hopefully earlier if we are mathematically safe from relegation. The only yardstick we should measure Dyche again is avoidance of relegation. He gets bonus points for developing an energy and effective style of play, and if he secures safety as early as possible. Good start however yesterday but he really needs momentum now in order to build confidence which despite yesterday I would imagine is still fairly fragile and easy to break……people talk about form and injuries and all are true but confidence in the players, the team and the manager are just as important

So, we stay up, he's changed the team, we're combative and doing well...

And you only give him until may basically and wanna sack him for... some reason? For who also?

lol

I suggest you read the post again. I have said his yardstick for success is avoiding relegation……where did I say he gets sacked? As far I’m concerned he gets 18 months even if he gets relegated to give him the chance to bring us back up? Comprehension not your strong suit uh? ?

A very significant difference between Dyche and Lampard (apart from being a more competent football manager), is that Dyche believes this group of players is good enough to survive and compete in the Premiership. Lampard clearly didn’t, and that belief transmits to the players and influences the way you set out to play. Lampard constantly spoke about the need for players and it being no surprise this team was in a relegation battle, that is bound to undermine confidence. In contrast Dyche has spoken about the quality of the players in this squad and that they are better than they realise. Something that simple can have a profound effect on the mindset of individual players and the team as a whole.

Yep, he said he wants to help them shine and didn't panic buy as this also translated, this squad can keep us up.

Sorry you're replying to someone who's antiDyche with agreement mate.

You're right, no other way to read those posts other than you giving him 18 months, granted.

Hmm not sure. There are a few managers who just seem to have Liverpool's number: Ancelotti was one, he took us to the pit and we won. Allardyce seemed to know how to deal with them as well, granted we never beat them with him but a couple of draws?

I think Dyche has them sussed.
Nah, it’s different getting a result there with Burnley than with Everton.
They’ll be on us from the off as their fans demand it. It’s probably one of the few games a season they gee themselves up for.

He didn’t have a great record against them at Burnley so not sure what this is based on?

I am not getting carried away, we have such a poor record there I would take a draw now.

The acid test as we all know is beating the teams around us.

These players have got to realise and I’m sure Dyche will remind them if that they show the same energy & application as yesterday they will climb the table.

One game isn’t enough. It’s not rocket science, just work hard for 90 mins is all we ask and quite likely all we will need

He’s been very clever in that he’s explaining everything simply, he’s not trying to sugar coat anything and hasn’t said anything which could be misinterpreted.

He’s just called for honest hard work from everyone and we’re all on board with that, we are one of the easiest fan bases to please, just look how much we celebrated winning that corner in the first half after the players had closed arsenal down.

He’ll know that, and he’s obviously told the players that if they get us on side their game will be a lot easier.

Did he not? Ok maybe a bad comparison. Perhaps he'll do better with the toffs. They look cack at the minute anyway, we can do them if we're smart.
