Didn’t we score from open play?

Doucoure got put through one on one as well. Maupay had a spin shot in the box, Davies with a volley. All from open play.

I know we’re still pretty poor going forward but I genuinely don’t understand why fans start up with all this stuff about us not being able to ever score a goal or create chances from open play.

It’s just not the case under Dyche. In the three games we’ve had under him we’ve created gilt edged chances in each game from open play.
With some better decision making we should have created a couple of more sitters today.

Thinking we're fine when we still can barely create a chance from open play is putting the cart firmly in front of the horse.

Leeds were horrible and we ground it out. Good. We need to grind them out. We also need to get better.
Mate, nobody things were fine. However, when ginger Sean was brought in the common consensus was we need at least 6 or 7 wins to stand a chance of staying in this league. The fact he’s got 2 wins out of his first 3 games means I think we all need to show him the respect he’s earned and deserves.

We can focus on getting better in the summer when we hopefully sack the board and Thelwell and then buy some good players. For now we are absolutely terrible and must accrue points by any means necessary.

Don't know if we will ever sack the board - but shouldn't Thelwell go now. We need someone in now planning, not just grasping at straws in the summer...we have done that to often

Burnley fan. I haven't seen much of Gray but the only reason I can think he isn't in the team is lack of defensive nouse. You will know more about that. He won't have anyone who can't put a defensive shift in when you need to keep it tight due to not having the goal scorers. You will be set up to do a job but if you manage to get points on the board and it looks ok he will try to get you playing more football. He is very underrated. Burnley actually played some good stuff under him and you have more technical players. It was stale at the end because the old Chairman wouldn't spend any money due to trying to sell the club. The new board did but it was too late. We did make a decent profit on players he had signed (Heaton, Pope, Collins, Keane (sorry), Cornet), so I hope, if he keeps you up, he gets a chance next season with players he wants. You could have done with a Barnes type player in the window, for this season, who batters the opposition defenders and winds them up. Makes room for others to get in and score. One that only their fans love and every other teams fans hate.

One thing he is very good at is not letting players get down when they have a losing streak. He said, and was correct in Burnley's case, that wins and defeats come in blocks. He believed that the win was just round the corner and, up to last season, he was usually right. He doesn't get excited by wins or down by defeats. No matter what the result the game is parked after the debrief and onto the next. You have probably noticed that already with the two wins and one defeat.

If we can stay up it will be interesting to see how the window goes. You’d hope Dyche might be the adult in the room who will say ‘you’re not buying that clown’ when Moshiri or Bill have their next brainwave.
