And that was like 8 years ago? Thats ages ago without playing front foot football

If we go down we need to act like we are Everton and go out and put teams away.
Act like we are Everton? That’s exactly what we are doing now. When was the last time we played like that? Martinez?

Earlier he talked about a minium standard that players have to operate at, what to expect. Can't have been that today. Or it has gone pear-shaped already. Lampard-esque performance, this.

Not arsed we lost to the Arse, that was expected, but sheesh it was bad.

Sean Dyche is a below average Premier League manager which puts him about three steps up from our squad and 10 steps up from our owner and board. He is a symptom of the shambolic management which has brought a great club to its knees, he is not the cause. Every Evertonian should now direct their anger solely towards Moshiri, Kenwright and the rest of the board, they should be left in no doubt that they are not wanted anywhere near the club, however that anger should never spill over into threatening behaviour or personal abuse.

At that level we should be going out and putting teams away. We play like a non league team these days with 11 behind the ball. We have zero identity anymore and we are an irrelevance in football.

There will be no team in the championship next year who will be remotely near our stature. Some might call it arrogance, but we need to be arrogant again. Next year there is no excuse for not going out and expecting to beat these sides. If we go down as I expect, nothing less than winning the championship will be good enough.

To be honest mate, we don’t have a team capable of that. The last 2 seasons have been an utter disaster and the board are praying for miracles that we stay in this division. You are right that we are an irrelevance.

There was a time when I’d have agreed with you on your last paragraph mate but we are a museum. A footballing dinosaur. Not even a sleeping giant anymore, just an utter irrelevance to anybody outside of our own fan base. There is a whole generation of football fans who have never seen us do anything. We have a famous old and that’s about it to them.

If they go down there will be a fire sale and what that will be left will not guarantee instant return

A lot of nonsense being written here now after a loss against the league leader away from home. For those who didn't see that the 1st half was brilliantly tactical, I recommend watching it in replay. It will be shown at many coaching seminars about good collective defensive play.

Unfortunately, we depend on a good dose of luck to get something when we play against the best teams, and today we didn't have that. Instead, we had a really big brain haemorrhage, and a goalkeeper - if he had had a good day - who should have saved the first goal.

2 half was no surprise. Anyone who has played football, and who has played against a team that is significantly better and that is leading the game, knows that the risk is very high for the goals to start pouring in if you open up. Especially when you meet a team whose entire philosophy is based on inviting pressure. At the same time, you have to give it a try, then it tends to be half-hearted.

The next test is against Nottingham, and this is a game where we should have a fair chance.

There are no guarantees in football but if we dont go straight back up then they've failed. The best championship players will want to play for Everton and we will raise substantial funds.

Any DOF and board with any sort of credentials would back themselves to build a promotion winning squad. Flip Id back myself in that scenario to put together a competitive Everton side at that level.

Played well enough for 40 minutes tonight, if it’s only 1-0 at half time maybe it’s a different game but Gana brain farts and the tactics are in the bin.
Arsenal twice, Liverpool away, Villa and Leeds at home and he’s got 6 points. 6 points was the maximum any manager with this squad was getting from those fixtures, Lampard would probably of had 0 points. Tonight isn’t going to determine the season standings, games like Forest away on Saturday will.

‘It will be shown at many coaching seminars’. That’s some serious grade A narcotics you have there.
