2022/23 Sean Dyche

I’d take survival this season and a comfortable 12th next season to get us into BMD in one piece.
I hope Dyche has a good few years managing us. A bit of stability is what this club badly needs. Forget about the top four or top six for now.

We need to reestablish our position and reputation as a competitive premier league team again.

Someone said on here a few months ago, that Sean Dyche would only do a Moyes like job for us. That sure would do me fine really.

He seems like a fair but no nonsense kind of fella which is a good fit for a team that lacks technical quality
if you don't put the effort in he will want to know why and if you are not honest about it he probably won't give you the time of day
He sure is a man who's very old school in his approach and way of doing things alright. That's what i like about him.

He’s really impressed me - sets us up well and I always feel like we’re in games now.

Thanks to him we have it in our own hands to survive, which is all we could have asked for.

His Subs were great after Doucure got his marching orders.

Jimmy Garner in for Doucs is the only change for united, and that’s a winnable fixture under Dyche.

Happily take a point.

Speaking of shoestrings...

Ive not gone through it but is he someone who'll want to sign multiple players in the summer or is he more likely to focus on fewer but key signings?

He’s used to operating with a small squad and sticking to a settled line up. With that in mind I’d hope he goes for quality over quantity, whilst going for players with a good fitness record.

He does remind me very much of Moyes. Will want the ‘right’ kind of character in anyone he signs.

Dyche has transformed a team who were a bunch of walter the softies under Lampard, into a team with fight and spirit and is really hard to beat.

With that sort of fight, spirit and determination then we have every chance of staying up.
the team has fight but also lacks discipline

towards the end of last season you had allan, rondon and branthwaite getting sent off

this year numerous fines from the FA for failing to control our players and the doucoure sending off and 4 pens conceded this season

The mentality compared to the start of the season is night and day, and much better than last year's. Two games in the row we've gone behind, but we ain't given up.

I wouldn't mind those records in isolation it's more we don't tend to get the decisions in our favour when the boot is on the other foot, literally.

Trying to use an inexperienced teenage centre half being sent off after getting caught the wrong side of his man and trying to get back as evidence of an underlying discipline problem is a little bit of a stretch.

Definitely seems to prefer a smaller more intimate squad - quality over quantity sort of guy.

I’ve heard from numerous sources that Dyche is also very skeptical about random scout reports and recommendations of players - he really likes to know of the player and have had eyes on them himself rather than just analytics and sort of dodgy agents and scouts.

Whoever you will sign he will have done his due diligence of, unless you have someone signing players without consulting him.

I know there was some tension between our ex Technical Director, Mike Rigg and Dyche on players.
