2022/23 Sean Dyche

He has left an awful lot to do in the last few games by not setting the team up to win in recent weeks. Draws against teams like Palace and Spurs are ok in the Autumn but not in April when you're in enormous relegation trouble.

Other teams around us have gone out and played with energy and aggression on the front foot, but Dyche has instilled a safety first mentality where draws are seen as excellent results. We don't show any urgency to go and win games, so that must come from the manager.

Some of his decision making in the last month has been nothing short of abysmal. He doesn't seem to know his squad as well as we do as fans, and it's a big concern.

If we go down, this level of football is not acceptable, and will not be effective. We need to build from the bottom and learn how to play football again and to take the game to opponents. At championship, nothing short of promotion is acceptable and we won't achieve it playing safety first percentage football. I se nothing to suggest he is good enough to manage Everton, and I don't think changing the manager late in Janaury made any difference, except from probably ensuring we didn't get a forward.

he is a footballing primitive man.

if he takes us down, he has to go.

If we go down we need a manager who plays aggressive front foot football, because there is no reason to park the bus against lesser sides, and there is no reason not to play to win. You need almost 30 wins to get promoted from that league and that means you need to make the running in games.

There is no game in the championship where we should not be favourite. We need a manager who wants to instil a winning mentality in players, and build something from the bottom. You won't do that with old school park the bus and hoof tactics. You won't do that by telling players draws are great results.

Eddie Howe would have failed here like every other manager.

The club is set up to make them fail. The greatest manager in the world got us 10th for christs sake.
100%. The club need a total revamp from the owner down to the players and everything in between. Only then can any manager have any chance of success. What that success is though is anyone guess right now.

I'm hearing a lot of amazing things about ChatGP... The AI is ridiculous!

Can we not just try it out? Put the following parameters in: What tactics would make the current Everton team win a match?

If it gives us a result, sack the ginger and we can save millions not having to hire an actual manager!

I mean, it can be any worse then the garage we've been feed with the last bunch of managers?!?

With this squad , minus the players we’d be sure to lose , I’m not certain on your favourites tag if the worst happened . We definitely should be and at the very least we should be doing what Burnley have done , in terms of a rebuild but we would have a lot of work to do .

Let’s hope it doesn’t become an issue .

I’d say this is one of the biggest black marks against keeping him if we go down.

He has made it clear (deliberately binning Simms out, not liking Patterson, not even benching Mills etc) that we won’t be building a sustainable team built around young players.

Ancelotti used to do the 2 keepers and no youngsters thing too to be fair. There’s some sort of weird sickness that infects managers when they come to this club. They all end up being absolute weirdos and doing bizarre things.

Used to get on me thrippneys when Carlo did it - made zero sense then or now.

You might be right about the club addling managers brains. It’s certainly addled mine!

Agree so we have to look at what’s constant at the club while numerous managers have been here. Simply put it’s the owner and boards which has led to poor hirings in the
Management and player departments. Bill and moshri getting involved in what players we sign is 1 of them many problems at the top.

Also for his tactics, defend, defend, try to grab a goal and hang on.

I'd argue we haven't seen enough of this since he's been here. Most of the time it's felt like he's trying overcompensate for the lack of goals by throwing players forward, when we might be best served keeping it tight and trying to nick a goal (which was the plan yesterday by the looks of it).

Same thing kept us up last year.
