the problem with this type of appointment is that the ceiling is like 15th, and when you’re in the position we are invariably it ends with relegation - whether we stay up this year or not, we face a long term issue with him as manager. that being said, the security of a 15th place finish is rather appealing currently

He just puts words out in such a way that you think “yes, those are some words.”

He says words to fill space. They don’t mean anything.

I don’t think that is true. Fat Sam knew the majority of goals had to come from open play and that the game for him was all about winning first or second balls in opposition territory. Set pieces were an extra that could decide right games.

Dyches tactics seem to be that all our goals should come from set pieces. There is none of the aggression of a fat Sam team. He is probably the last manager to come in and actually buy players to play a system and fit in.

We would probably be safe already if we had hired fat Sam.

Some of the football under Sam was dire in terms of offensive prowess, but you’d struggle to argue he didn’t do the job. We stayed up and we’re 8th*.

However, you could argue the squad had more about it than this lot.
