2022/23 Sean Dyche

Dyche is more frustrating than I thought he'd be because he's not plainly awful, we do a lot well honestly, but he's also so flawed that it can never work and doesn't seem like he has any ability to adjust to those flaws.
I'm not sure what he does well, he had the players closing down and chasing like maniacs for the first 25 minutes.
It was clear that when we got picked off on the brake we weren't going to have a plan b and we hadn't the energy to continue at the relentless rate plan A required.
When we cant do plan A we resort to who knows what, kinda a bit of everything, back to lampards lack of game management.

Surely the reason you appoint someone like Dyche is to keep clean sheets. Gotta be sacked in the summer and hire someone that likes to coach young players how to pass a ball.
His weird addiction to Keane hasn't really helped us.

In the first 4 games we played, with Coady at CB, we conceded 4 and kept 2 clean sheets. Average 1 goal a game conceded.

Since then, with keane in the side, we've played 9, conceded 18 and kept 2 clean sheets. Average 2 goals a game conceded.

The players are putrid but theres no excuse on why the passing is so lackluster for premier league players, can't even complete the most rudimentary pass not expecting man city tiki taki. I was hoping with Dysche in place he would instill the fundamentals of the game but still looking raw despite some structure being introduced at the beginning

The players are not capable of anything but plan A. Come to think of it they are not up to that either.

It's stuff like this I can't get my head around. We're literally running head on into relegation, and he just keeps putting out the same back-line over and over. Is Patterson world class? Of course not, but you cannot convince me he is worse than Godfrey at right back. Even if he's crap defensively, he might at least offer something going forward, whereas Godfrey's already proven to be both crap defensively and offer nothing going forward. What's the worst that can happen? We're already getting thrashed by several goals.

Not to mention playing Keane over Mina / Coady. Not being able to score is our biggest problem but a better defensive record would at least have given us a chance to pick up a few more points, even with draws if need be.
