2022/23 Sean Dyche

Dyche isn’t world class but comparing him to Lampard is madness.

Since coming in his results below haven’t been bad at all. We’ve been really unlucky to play teams who were in top form (Villa, Palace, Newcastle).

Even the draw at Forest wasn’t bad (unlucky not to win with another awful individual mistake costing us once again). Since September when they had lost pretty much every game played, they’ve only lost at home against Newcastle and Man Utd.

The Fulham home loss really sticks out as a bad result given their form at the time, but to me it just shows what situation Lampard left us in.

Losing against every team around us under Frank was what has cost us, and the board acting so late while not buying anyone in January would be where the blame lies for me.

There’s work to do but I’m convinced Dyche can keep us up with Leicester, Wolves and Bournemouth to play. However.. if we don’t win 2 out of those 3, then a chunk of responsibility is on him.

Why is it madness comparing two dreadful managers?

Dyche got marginally better results that are getting worse after the new manager bounce.
Our attacking play is still non existent and that is ok because no one thought he would make miracles with the dross we have. But to make the defence even worse is quite an achievement for a defensive minded coach.

I dont have much humour left regarding Everton but i did think today that this is the most Everton thing ever. The team cant score. So you appoint a manager with the worst goals per game ratio in the premier league over the past 5 years 🤣
Everton that.

Of course. Thats not down to him.

Name one who we could attract then ?
Burnley got Kompany
Brighton got De Zerbi
Leeds, although it failed, got Marsch

All punts from abroad, 2 out the three have been a success, so why did our lazy board only have these for options after Ancelotti left?

Benitez (who staggeringly got the job)
Pereira (who’s been on the list since Moyes left)
Lampard (who ultimately failed)
Dyche (who was in the battle against us last season)
Bielsa (who thought managing the U21s was a better option)

I said my reasons in my post - when comparing their fixtures and results, Dyche has had it much tougher than Lampard did.

Lampard also had a full season worth of games and a preseason to prepare. Dyche hasn’t had either luxury and also doesn’t have Richarlison to save him.

Why’s it an either/or thing?
Because Sean Dyche is a failed manager, the Board knew exactly what they were getting when they hired him. Because Maupay isn’t capable of playing Premiership football, again they knew that before they gave £15 mill for him. Because they run the club and we are facing disciplinary action for breaching FFP regulations.
Blaming Dyche for being Dyche or blaming Maupay for being Maupay is a bit like buying a gold fish and blaming it because you can’t take it for a walk.

Failed manager is a ridiculous comment.

The guy got Burnley into Europe and promoted from the Championship twice. Keeping them in the PL multiple times on a tight budget. Something which many PL managers haven’t managed.

That is poor. We’re currently conceding more goals than we did under even Lampard. It’s not good enough.

It’s that Fulham game…that’s the one…other results have been pretty normal with the odd unexpected draw.

Kompany could very well sink in the PL & Brightons fella has done well but you could argue their system is what makes them do well rather than just specifically the manager.

I cant see EFC being an attractive proposition for any manager right now for a multitude of reasons. Even Leicester ended up with Dean Smith as they couldn't find a good level permanent appointment.

Dyche needs to get better results but at this stage ya'll need to get behind him certainly until we're in a position to go out and bring in a higher level appointment.
