Don’t see the point in sacking him either way. He inherited an absolute mess, tried to manage players best he could, but has been destroyed by injuries anyway.

If we stay up, which will be with a good bit of luck involved, there’s no point paying yet another manager off without him spending a penny on players. If we go down he’s got proven pedigree of bringing teams up. Either way he stays.

Doesn't mean Simms, is.

Maupay was scoring 25+/championship player of the year and signing for Brighton for £20m at Simms age.

Not convinced the melt down over not bringing Simms on is worth it.

To me Simms also doesn't look like a target man/number 9 either. In the same way Maupay isnt.
Simms is no world beater but he’s twice the threat and 10 times the better player

Simms has at least scored a goal in the past 6 months

Because Simms at least as physicality about him; something g that can be used to cause a bit of confusion/upsetting defences

Whereas Neal Maupay is one of the worst centre forwards that has represented this club

IF we stay up, and if the takeover happens then there's an easy excuse to get rid - new owners want their own man in. Go down and I think he'll stay.

Today was baffling at times, couldn't understand why we didn't go 3 at the back with Iwobi and McNeill as WB's when Patterson went off, seemed the logical formation, but he seems to have Keane down as a utility man now he's had to realise he's a crap centre half.

I'm more concerned about Simms looking like he knows where the net is

He doesn't though.

Dyche thought that. I thought that based on his appearence.

Sunderland fans joked his first touch was like he was wearing timberlands and how for a big lad he has no presence.

From what I've seen of him, Chelsea goal aside he offered absolutely nothing either so excuse me for not losing the plot over not bringing him on.

He could go on an be a decent player but I don't think he's a number 9 and/or target man many think he could be.

People make out simms is peak benzema apart from his chelsea goal he looks terrible

easily as bad as maupay
Agreed he looks pretty awful but if you have the choice between an abysmal midget that can't run and an abysmal six-footer, then surely you have to go with the more physical fella.

I stand by my opinion that his in game decisions today were absolutely woeful.

The fact he had to change the system after we went behind to fix his initial mistake, sums up his management. It's reactive and negative rather than proactive

And the obsession with bringing on Maupay over Simms is bizarre at this point. Maupay has done absolutely nothing to suggest he should play over Simms. He's up there with worst forward we've had in my time watching Everton. He's not even as effective as the likes of Straq or Vellios, and they were not good.

Next week he needs to get it right from the start of the game. We can't afford to start slow, go behind and then he works it out. Get it right from the start, and if an injury happens, make the right call first time. Don't overthink it, make the sensible call based on our players. If it means starting with Coady in a back 3 to help with the lack of full backs, then do it from the start, don't wait.
