….;huge decision to start with Mina. Says lots about him.

Kind of...but remember he was being asked the question by reporters, it was all over the media and in fans forums (like GOT).

He may have done it as a hail mary knowing what everyone was saying?

MIna and Patterson should have been starting weeks ago and for me, hes practically thrown 5 games.

Keep the same team next game of course but id like to see mroe of Garner and Onana together.

Beautiful football or not, tonight was a performace i massvely enjoyed!
That was with 11 crap players
as well so imagine what he could do with a better squad.
Pipe down.
I think the reality is, he needs to really stick with not playing Keane.

Without Keane

P5 W3 D0 L2 Goals Conceded 5 rate: 1.00 Clean Sheets 2

With Keane

P10 W1 D5 L4 Conceded 20 Rate 2.00
Clean Sheets 2

Brilliant today, but the calmness at the back certainly helped.
It was clear to everyone. But him.

"This is Southampton's 11th consecutive Premier League season. Only the 'big six' have been in longer, which is why they were given 'long-term shareholder' status in Project Big Picture.

This was the plan to reshape English football, formulated by the biggest clubs in the autumn of 2020, but disappeared amid the European Super League row that followed."

Simon Stone @ BBCsport. Add him to the list.

WOW thats pathetic journalism.

Yes, but he was cutting off a question about ex Burnley favourites.
He wasnt really cutting off a question about an ex burnley players. He brought up the fact that he was being critisised by various factions for protecting Keane. He denied that he was protecting him and then said even if he needed protecting that was his job as hes the Everton manager.

Ref 'pipe down', i was actually being a
bit tongue In cheek. Probably not obvious from the post. Its what most people have been saying reference the squad over the previos weeks. Ive been a believer that the squad is better than they have been performing, maybe its just a confidence thing with some of them. It just needs a team mentality more like we had last night to get things going.
Hopefully we can repeat it against City, but of course i think its a much harder game.

But he was. Because it was a question about McNeil and the subtext was he was an ex Burnley player. He could see where it was going.

Inappropriate Language
He's made hard work of the last 10/11 games. We're still in the sh!t but hes pulled one of the best results out yest that Everton have had in years. His persistence with Keane did him no favours. Just me personally watching yest even though brighton had all that possession i felt far more at ease than i do with keane and Godfrey not being the last line of defence.

Hopefully his epiphany with Keane hasn’t come too late.
Maybe it was fitness and similar situation as with Dom, just not the media focus on a defender and foreign. Still it was good management in his positive words about keane.

Mina is an upgrade by some margin on ability. Saying that Keane did get us important goal and point against Spurs.

Then again with Mina playing do we win those games!?

Got the starting 11 spot on yesterday.

Second half we definitely rode our luck for a long period. Onana was the right choice but probably a bit late for me.

I still struggle to see what Maupay brings as a late sub. Personally would have gone with Simms for his height and more likely to stretch the defence if he was having to run from deep late on to get the ball out.

Doucoures red card was the problem in those games. I think we'd have beaten them with him on the pitch. But your comment is sensible. We don't know what happens behind the scenes and Dyche changed when it was important to do so. End of. No point to continue to slate Keane when the margins of top level football are so fine.
