2023/24 Sean Dyche

I honestly think that we need to put Seamus in as caretaker. Trying to find a manager now would be suicidal but no one gets us more than Seamus.
It can't get any worse than what's happening currently. It's our best chance of avoiding relegation.

I actually agree with this. Mostly because I really get the impression now that the players aren’t playing for Dyche, either because they don’t like him or because they have no faith in his ability or both.

I don’t necessarily know if Coleman has the skill set to be a manager but I do sense he has the respect and loyalty of the other players, seems like a decent guy and I don’t think you can argue he is very professional in his approach to the game. He can at least possibly bring in a “new manager bounce” type thing.

It’s gone very, very stale under Dyche. The biggest change from when we were picking up wins is the lack of energy (and goals obviously!) and without that energy the way he wants to play isn’t going to work.
Dyche needs to stop rewarding terrible performances of players with a guaranteed start every week and has to change something, history and his career so far tells us he won’t.
Circling the drain ad infinitum. What. A. Club.
I think this is definitely a factor but also under previous managers. I think the fatigue of struggling game in, game out and season in, season out is also having an demoralising effect. We are the only team in the league that has faced a relegation battle for three consecutive seasons. All the other teams have either been doing this for one or two seasons. I think aside from the non existent coaching, there is an under lying confidence issue that even when we go on a half decent run, I think the players think it won’t last. This also drains energy. Aside from that though they’re all crap.

They have a better balanced squad and variety of more players also.
Debatable. but I'll ask this:

Seeing as the Bournemouth squad is better balanced, if Dyche were their manager, do you think his approach and style of play would be much different?

I suspect it would be more of the same. He is what he is.

I was more than OK with his appointment, and was pretty impressed he kept us up last season. He's unarguably been dealt an awful hand at Everton with a terrible squad and selling squad players, (and Iwobi) but I see a very stubborn man, hoping things will just click.

Even if we survive this season I'd seriously consider a replacement with some of our miserable budget.

As I look at it, it’s the perfect storm. You can change manager but you’ve still got the same group of players, many of whom laboured under previous managers.
There’s no guarantees of a new manager bounce from this lot.

What ever happens this season I can’t see much changing in the summer that gives me confidence that we could do better in next season’s premier league or even the championship.
Our supposed better players will be off, some will be out of contract and we’re going to be scrapping the barrel in the free transfer market.

I'm not 100% convinced that would do the job, Coleman has been doing his motivational speeches for years and we still aren't getting the players maximum.

I'd throw all the cash at Mourinho as a temp job until the summer. That gives us time to evaluate and perhaps if he doesn't get anything better then he may stay on, I want to have one year where we aren't in a relegation battle and just get to the new stadium as a PL club. I don't think that will happen as he should still have more pride and we are probably falling psr again next year without an immediate change of rules.

Stick.

I believe we'll see a turnaround. Sacking Dyche would have meant we have learnt nothing.
if this was early in the season I’d agree , but where on the home stretch now whole thing needs a lift and he isn’t really showing anything , players seem to have had enough too everything seems flat

He's undoubtedly been dealt a crap hand.

My point is I'm not convinced he'd change his approach if dealt a far better hand.

If I could be assured he'd get us into the new stadium still a PL club I'd gladly accept another year of crap football.

I'm not sure this current bunch can be bothered with another 'gaffers day' and another season of one dimensional play.

The only 1 day preparation comment is the moment mangers here start the process of hanging themselves. Pure nonsense thing to say and fans rightly will go at him for it. Defeat against Newcastle then the excuses will become more desperate and stupid.
