2023/24 Sean Dyche

Next season is going to be a nightmare with loads of first team players out of contract or getting sold for ffp and very unlikely we will replace them with anyone of quality either

Also looks like it will be more competitive than ever especially if Leicester, Leeds and Southampton come up.

we need something better of the pitch

For years, we've longed for a manager who doesn't mince words, someone who understands the frustrations we, as fans, discuss fervently on this forum. Behind the scenes, our club is evidently in disarray—a board that seems disengaged, financial constraints that have led to sporting sanctions, and spiralling stadium costs.

After his comments after the Chelsea drubbing, he basically confirmed what a lot of us have been saying for a long time - it appears the players in the dressing room wield far too much influence over managerial decisions.

Sean Dyche has consistently echoed our sentiments as fans. It's refreshing, yet somewhat disconcerting, to see our private discussions laid bare by the man at the helm. Despite the mediocre quality of football, which is a direct result of previous managers' unsuccessful attempts to foster an attacking playstyle with an ill-suited squad, Dyche's frank approach is a breath of fresh air.

Remarkably, we find ourselves with a fighting chance in the relegation battle, even after two seperate points deductions - a scenario that seemed improbable.

Should Dyche manage to keep us up, it would be nothing short of a miracle. In these turbulent times, his straightforward, no-nonsense leadership might just be the lifeline we need.

We were incredibly lucky today.

Could easily have had three penalties given against us.

Don’t care how we win, if it means we win from now on out.

Get safe, and hopefully start a fresh again next year.

Hopefully next year no sets backs like the double points deduction etc.
if you take them away this year, then it’s been a positive year of building on last season.

Thought the set up limited Gibbs-White. Really wasn’t much in the way of danger, the penalty claims weren’t really scoring chances denied, per se.

The focus to get McNeil inside was obvious and paid off.

To play expansive football you need better players and unfortunately we haven't got a bean to spend.
Those that want Dyche out.
A simple question who do you think you are going to get to come iand take over , given the current circus surrounding the club? It's a poisoned chalice.

Better because we won. Still not happy over Monday night in he set us up, not in a position to gamble on early goal. Win Wednesday will atone.
Cant fault him today on tactics and bringing Gomes just makes us better and more rounded. He is managing us in the weird and difficult circumstances that no other manager has experienced at Everton.

He’s on 5 mil a year, you’re very naive if you think young managers around the world and experienced one, earning a 10th of what dyche is wouldn’t crawl over broken glass to get a job in the prem.

Today changes nothing.

It does a bit though doesn’t it because if we’d lost we’d right now be looking down the barrel of being relegated, almost everyone on here would want him fired and we’d be discussing when we would ever earn a point again in the prem.

As it is the result has put safety pretty luck in our laps, consigned Forest to the relegation battle and has given everyone at the club a bit of confidence for the final 5 games.

So how does it change nothing? Given the wider financial problems at the club that would be compounded by relegation it’s actually an absolutely pivotal result.

Im not sure we could get in lesser quality. Watched the united coventy game after and i genuinely think the coventry midfield looked more composed on the ball than Evertons.
Just need to be smarter with recruitment.
I fully realise that last line is ridiculous though.

keeping us up even with an 8 point deduction. Will he ever get a shred of credit or is this another win that doesn’t count because you didn’t enjoy it?
I give him credit, considering the circumstances
but for every 'ugly win' there have been 1.5 ugly losses
Without the points deduction we are solidly 14th 4pts behind 15th
Is that really worth football we don't enjoy? Is that good for us now?
Think he probably deserves another shot next year if we stay up but we are looking a lot more like his Burnley lately and that can never end well
Wouldn't be upset at all if he was let go at the end of the season but I doubt that will happen because we are rudderless

Yeah. I mean, Forest let our man of the match dribble right to the edge of the box, unchallenged. It didn’t work out this time but frankly everyone knows we lack technical ability in most spots. Watching Doucoure and Gana pass to each other is like nails on a chalkboard
