What I find so weird, and I guess this is symptomatic of modern society, is why a number of people are so desperate to have a set position on Dyche and then just ignore/exaggerate the evidence that supports their POV.

Your opinion is allowed to change. Equally you're allowed to acknowledge both his strong points and clear limitation.

He's done a very good job under ridiculous circumstances. No, that doesn't mean I think he's the long term solution. But given we are on the verge of financial abyss if we don't sort ourselves out, I'm extremely grateful we seem to have a competent manager in charge who has seen us comfortably safe despite the PL trying their best to shaft us.

Having Dyche isn't going to prevent us progressing in the next couple of years. The thing that, IMO, will prevent us progressing is the total and utter mess we've become off the field. He is the right man for the here and now, given the circumstances.

Whats that saying, there are lies, damned lies and statistics. Statistics are just facts in wolves clothing.......anyone can use statistics to make a point about something. Politicians make a career out of it. Winless run this, winless run that, worst defeat, this worst defeat that, lowest scorers this, lowest scorers that...at the end of the day he has improved our league position from last year and its a seasons work as the boss says. What did you expect, Real Madrid, with this squad and under this duress....
Maybe its the hardest run of games we have had for 67 years, or maybe look at points won during the run of games...is that the worst points for 67 years.
I don't think anything would change in judgement and be different if it was 2 wins or 6 draws in 13.

The question is: How much had the insecurity of the 2nd point deduction that was rumored to be worse than the first at first early January, but also only could be a warning I believe there was everything between 0 and 12 points to be rumored an impact.

Not wanting to shift all the blame on that, but can't be left out either out, also not going so many games win less and some credit to find back the form.

It's like journalists, turn the thesis to what you like it. Leave key factors aside, having one-sided views on things etc.

You have to consider 50 things or more to make a fair judgement, but needs neutrality and no tunnel view over Dyche this season.

No, it happened, just like the good runs bookending it happened. We move on.
The good run did happen*, great that it did, but we need to not overlook these things if they keep happening, as he's here until his contract runs out (rightfully so).

* Edit: I'd wager the first one was more important as it bought is some time really. The RS win was sweeter though.

Short term memory and good times over a small amount of games is part of our horrid situation anyway, so "we move on" but we should keep that in mind. He's earned his next year obviously but if it's more of the same eye gouging football and lack of game management (if we're in a better position due to ownership etc.) he'll either have to actually adapt for the first time in his PL career or go in favour of better.

If we're more of the same in the boardroom then it's irrelevant as we'll be up S***'s creek anyway.

I've said several times - I want him to be some kind of Brexit Diego Simeone for us (as much as I dislike him) and make us compete in a battling way, but you have to have more than 1 way to set up a team, and I don't think he does.
Dyche shouldve spread out his wins over a season so you could be OK with it. Streak = bad no matter if you come back from it winning 4 on the bounce at home and beating your rival
Sorry I didn't like us not winning for 4 months mate, I'll change my ways and happy clap any old crap served up by the team from today x

The thing is everyone is bringing up Brighton, I think they’re one of the lowest spenders over the last couple of years and have lost 6/7 of their first team in the last 2 years. And had injuries this season, yet have been top half all season untill the last few weeks, even with the top 10 deduction we’ve been in the bottom half all season.

Would you have had Potter as manager or De Zerbi?
