In a perfect world yes. But there are so many upsets against top league opposition for this reason. Nobody is arsed and the teams that tend to make it far either invest everything into the cup and waste their time getting whooped by City in the finals or miraculously win it all and end up with a sour league position. It is a huge investment and I’d like to see us compete but these early stages are not the time to be rolling with a half arsed lineup with no motivation or confidence. It doesn’t look good on Sean either way

Correct. Our board always waits too long and almost always picks a dud replacement anyway.

Everton managers have to bring us to new unparalleled depths of failure before our inert board even glimpses a problem. You need to be losing 3-0 at Sunderland, having lost a derby 4-0 beforehand to get the boot here. Or how about a 5-2 humiliation at Anfield to evoke memories of a 2-6 home blitzing by Spurs once a cup defeat at Millwall has been forgotten? Losing 7-1 to Bournemouth over 180 minutes doesn't seem to cut it these days... This fella will need to be losing 3-0 tonight, 3-0 on Saturday, and then taking us 10 points from safety before Moshiri even realises he might need to do something - once that doesn't involve removing Bill.
