The issue I have is there doesn’t seem to be a gameplan

Players can have off days, their crosses go everywhere, they’re tired and slow to react - it’s part of being human.

What I won’t accept, and this was the same with lampard and Fat Kopite Rat, is the complete lack of identity. We get the ball and go back, to watch Pickford hoof it to a lone striker, who is again isolated because the manager wants as many people behind the ball as possible

I don’t think I’ve seen us have any form of play; something that you can clearly see has been worked on in training. It’s like 11 lads randomly put together and told to enjoy the game
I would like to see when he has harrison in this team and with mcneil hopefully looking better what his plan is. I thought he would be trying to use the width, also dont get what he is telling the fb we need them to take some risk and try to over lap to create space. For a prem team to not be able to even play at simple pass is on the manager even in the cup we got out played

And this is where I disagree. The gameplan against Wolves and Fulham was more huff and puff rather a tactical masterclass; Sheffield Utd was like watching 2 poor teams, apart from a 15 minute spell for us.

And I’m not having anyone tell me that professional footballers can’t pass a ball; they can. The reason it looks like they can’t is because nothing is being worked on for progressive play.

Nobody runs off one another, there’s no little 1-2 moves; it’s all off the cuff because there’s no coaching going on apart from defend deep and hoof it.

players get the ball and need to lookup because there’s nothing, no runners, no routine that they’ve worked on - the entire emphasis of the gameplan is don’t concede
Had the same argument on twitter today with an Everton fan blaming the players and saying it’s the midfields fault and you can’t just pin it all on dyche. And a new manager would have the same problem, because the players are rubbish. What are the midfielders or defenders supposed to do when they get the ball on the edge of our box, the only forward option pass is to a forward on his own surrounded by 2/3 arsenal defenders.

I pointed out martinez, who with a similar set of players changed how Everton had played under Moyes. Watching us v Doncaster, tells us everything we need to know about dyche and how this wait till he gets his own players rubbish. If he’s a defensive manager and wants to sit back and try and play counter attacking, fair enough in the prem, but when you play the team bottom of the 4th division, we should easily dominate them and win comfortably. Yet dyche never changed tactics and was screaming at Pickford to launch it long.

Noting will change, he’s on his way to the sack, because he’s already lost a lot of the fan base and more aren’t far behind, once that happens you’re done for

I'd like to see when he has Harrison is the same as, in no particular order:

...when he has Beto.
...when McNeil is back from injury.
...when Danjuma is available/fit.
...when DCL is fit.
...when Doucoure's suspension ends.

etc. etc. etc.

It's all the same - he's a crap manager.

You can give him the Man City team and in an instant they'd lose games AOTS cuz they'd have no setup under this utter slug.

….you recruit the players that fit the way you want to play. Having the right blend is really important so players certainly matter. If you pass like Brighton, you need players who are comfortable in possession.
But you can’t change overnight, potter came in and got Brighton playing football, if I remember right they would concede a lot of goals under potter in them first couple of years, but he sorted that and the finshed 9th in his last season.

This is why dyche is all wrong, Beto for 30mil definitely suits a more dyche style, so when he’s sacked do we get another dyche. Or look to play a more modern style. One signing is not the end of the world, but if dyche’s Spends 30mil on 4 or 5, then it becomes a big problem Imo.

The caveat is we don’t have that type of money, but you get what I mean. Thelwell should be picking the manager and the players

We can still play football - we've done it rarely under Dyche, but it's possible. Shame the instructions are "ping it to the big man, 11 behind the ball anyway".

I was thinking they'd probably give him the derby too. We're obviously going to get absolutely battered at the pit and they probably don't want a new manager starting off like that. That being said, it's Everton so who knows?!
Worst and best luck at the same time would be winning at the pit with Dyche - means he'll stay to ruin us some more, as even if we turn into prime Atletico for 1 game you just know that'll never happen again under him lol

The next 3 games are crucial…. I think we are going to have to be ruthless and get rid,see if we can get someone like Lee Carsley who’s doing a great job with the England under 21’s
We keep going like this we are 100% going to be relegated. That was horrendous yesterday.

Carsley would never stand for a performance like that at home in particular. 78% possession to the visiting team. Embarrassing
