2023/24 Sean Dyche

Are people really suggesting changing the manager again now? Surely even his most ardent critics would give him at least to Xmas?
What do you expect? We’ve won a few games. Only natural we start complaining about style of football and a manager’s body language and tone in pressers. Win tonight and fully expect a Potter thread to appear complete with poll.

What’s that got to do with Dyche though really? Someone made a poor call a year ago, it’s happened before and it’ll happen again. It’d be different if people were still crying about Lampard and making the case that he was unfairly sacked. I haven’t seen one post suggesting that.

That person @Rooney_Tunes also said anyone back then who wanted him sacked was a kopite. I want him to reflect and look at what he has become.

Make a poor call and accept it. He shouldn't be a hypocrit about it. I'm not even a fan of Dyche, just a means to an end while we have issues off the pitch.

Yeah that’s ridiculous tbh

He was sacked because his performance as manager was terrible. Nobody argued against his sacking at the time. If Dyche’s performance is as bad as his in the same time frame then we should also want him sacked too. Let’s see what’s cooking come the end of December.

True.

I'm not sure what people really expect with the utter state of our club but let's hope we've turned something of a corner on the pitch after a disastrous start

Would you give him until Christmas if we lose the next 4 on the bounce? In addition to the other 6 he’s already lost.

He earns his time like every other manager by winning games of football.

Considering what's happening off the field, Dyche is the right manager for this season. He will get enough points to stay up, even if the football being played isn't particularly easy on the eye.

Depending on who the new owners are, it would make sense to re-evaluate in the summer but it wouldn't make any sense to change manager any time soon.

There's hardly a big pool of top managers available to choose from.

Pep would have struggled at Everton at the start of this season.
Dyche has done well with what is available and certainly for the foreseeable future is probably our best choice as manager.

If we stabilise as a club and our financial situation improves then he will have different targets to reach and can be judged on those at that time.

We are still a bit away from that though.

I think the signs have been there that we are improving. Hopefully continues. I'd probably wait until the next 4 games are played before making up my mind. Not that it really matters what I think. But I think he's done a half decent job considering the situation we're in.
