2023/24 Sean Dyche

I like many others had a dislike bordering on contempt for this man and his brand of football before he joined never mind during the struggles we have endured over the last few months.

He has however done something I never thought possible and it appears we will be well clear of relegation by the end of the season

We play a bit when it's appropriate. We go more direct when it's appropriate. The whole Dycheball thing is nonsense. Even Burnley played some decent football when he was there although they were clearly often very direct. He's a pragmatic manager.

Some are just obsessed with the "(ManagerName)Ball" trope to the extent that they only see what fits their established view of what a manager is about.

Happy to see a big improvement - but going to wait until we hit 40 points until I start cracking one off
we wont need 40 this season, 32 will likely do it, 35 gives a bit of breathing room, personally I think we'll be well safe with a few weeks to go unless we have a catalogue of injuries to key players. We are more resilient in numbers this season in most areas of the pitch so confident.

I know; that is what you always say.

You seem to have a specific problem with me though, but hey, if it makes you feel better about your life, then please continue.

You have my blessing.

Listen to the last couple of sentences...

Some more of your posts from the past two weeks for you to read over. Not from this thread this time.

He should have been taken off at half time.

Dyche is at fault; he is a useless manager who has been given a free pass because of the 10-point penalty we have received.

Thank god you feel the same way as me.

All this S about Dyche being the right manager for us now is absolute BS...

I am...players have given up despite the soundbytes and Dyche is tactically inept, in addition to us still have to play the top teams and that is a recipe for relegation.

Glad you feel so positive...I think Dyche is useless, but there are other on here who want a statue of him put outside Goodison apparently...

For goodness sake!!

Beto so poor and will be taken off in the 89th minute...Dyche is so bad.

Burnley game coming up will be a watershed moment with regards to the relegation battle. Hope we can kick on and deliver another great win, that would give us real breathing space.

Encouraging to see praise for the manager here but there's a tough group of fixtures coming up. Going into them with confidence is great but i hope we still have confidence coming out after New years eve.

Loads of you are wrong because you’re hysteria prone biffs with misplaced entitlement, and troublesome egos that make you assume that 1) you know the game better than most and 2) anyone cares what you say. That ego also leads you to resist being proven wrong.

Thankfully for all of you I’m here to counter that the biffs and their go don’t consume the forum whole and ruin it for the good, reasonable pleasant blues on here.

I don’t accept any apologies for wanting Dyche sacked unless grovelling. It’s toads like YOU who have bullied Moshiri into chasing manager after manager out to put us in this position. Now grovel.

Will a clip of Denzel Washington appease you?

I think Dyche is doing a fine job and we have a quarter final to look forward to as well this month.

Probably a little bit early to be vaulting anyone (but we all know someone who's itching to get started), but some posters are conspicuous by their absence in this thread of late and others are subtly trying to change their own narratives a bit.

You'd all get a little bit more respect if you just said "I'm a knee-jerk dope who wouldn't accept that we'd just been a bit unlucky earlier in the season and I know very little about football which is why I can't accept that there is anything other than winning games which can be shown as indicators of a decent job being done"

Happy for you to copy and paste this though and you might escape Chico's exploits

Feel better now?

I wasn't totally convinced by him but understood he was easily the best option at the time. He's more than proved that he's good enough to manage us, we have a identity now and something to build on.

I'm not saying we will now be transformed for the better for a long time now etc, but it certainly seems we have turned a corner, my main enjoyment is the work rate the players put in!

Out of interest, what would people say would of been the main turning point for the improvement? Specific game or moment?

I've been one of his biggest critics about his style & personality, but I'm more than happy to hear about players over elaborate dance moves while the points come in!

Grovel to the gravel voiced one doubters!

I’ve been really enjoying the apologies the last week or so, great stuff to see almost everyone united behind him now!

…self vaulting on being right is a bit dodgy though 🤣
