2023/24 Sean Dyche

He needs to realise that if his main tactic is going to be hoofing the ball up the pitch and not getting the ball wide to get crosses in the box then he will be looking for a new job by Christmas. Not sure how he expected us to score in the first half. There was no plan, no structure, no organisation. Some of that’s on the players not stepping up but a lot of it is also down to Dyche.

Set up was awful tonight. And he continued to want to play hoofball even though we didn’t create one chance from it.

The players stopped listening to him (you can see him visibly slam his arm against his side when Pickford went short when Dyche was yelling to go over the top) and when we did, we actually started playing a bit.

McNeill is a massive miss for him.

Expecting him to suddenly play patient, tempo football simply isn't going to happen though. He played that for a decade at Burnley so he's not going to change. Same as how Big Sam just played the same way at every single club he managed despite having significantly better budgets at a few clubs than he did at Bolton.
