2023/24 Sean Dyche

Dyche has carved out a pretty successful career managing teams with bad rosters and getting them to avoid relegation. He probably brings the right approach to the current Everton team. If they ever get good enough talent to be potential top 8, he is probably not the guy to have since his passive style of play doesn't lead to enough possession or goals to get the wins that requires.

5 year contract

Let's not

But he's gone back to basics the last 2 games and its worked a treat.

He's got players winning their own battles. When you get 6 players winning their battles, 1 of those players tends to win 2 battles and helps their teammate out.

Tonight we had

Pickford
Mykolenko and Young
Branthwaite
Tarkowski
Gueye
Mcneil
Harrison
DCL

They all won their battles

Godfrey then stuck at it but Harrison won his battle so he helped him
Garner stuck at his but Gueye won his battle so helped him
Doucoure 2nd half stuck at it but DCL won 2 battles and then helped Doucoure overpower his player

Tremendous.

Pretty it is not, and Dyche has had his fair share of criticism BUT...to have had to endure what he has, to have to overcome an 8 point deduction and to have still kept us up with 4 games to go well that is progress on last year. Love him or hate him it's hard to deny!
