2024/25 Sean Dyche

Sometimes I feel like we deserve Dyche. It feels like many of the Prem managers doing well now, like almost all the ones in the top half bar Pep, our fans would have scoffed at and been against their appointment.

But we were in a worse state when he took over? Yes???

That's not yet proven this season but last season we went a tad under 4 months without a win (around that time Lampard was sacked, that is before, during and after the time that Lampard was sacked when Kenwright and Moshiri was interviewed after the West Ham game for example leading to Dyche becoming manager).

In my opinion, we might stay up with Dyche if he continues.

But my point is that (staying up) seems to be justification alone, to keep him. Even the God damn club have that attitude.

In my opinion it then renders the rest of this season as a waste. A write off.

In my opinion a better manager can get more out of this team and as a result more wins, better results, happier Evertonians.

It seems a few on here are happy to keep things as they are. Along with this anti-football.

Just so i understand the master plan is:

Just pick a good manager!

That it - what are an almost £200 mill organisation missing here when the answer was in this thread all along.

You'd think they might have asked that question at an interview - are you a good manager, yes or no.
What’s your idea just keep him and get relegated because we can’t keep sacking managers ? Interesting theory

TFG will come in.

They'll already know who will be replacing Sean Dyche.

Southgate. Potter. Whoever.

The hire will come in sooner if we look under threat.

The summer, if not.

But those who are spitting feathers at Dyche - the change isn't going to be made until there's clarity over ownership. And the change is inevitable.

Generally have to sack crap managers, last 3 have all been wrong appointments, only way to stop the cycle is to get better at recruiting managers.

I think some are obssessed by this notion that every manager that comes in has to stay for 10 or 15 years like Moyes, very rarely does that happen these days, the average time in the job by PL managers is just over 2 years....
The problem isn't sacking the terrible managers, it's the recruiting of three terrible managers in a row.

The issue is compounded by mid-table teams such as Bournemouth and Brentford having excellent coaches. Long gone are the days where the likes of Steve Bruce, Alan Pardew, Peter Reid, Alan Curbishley, Sam Allardyce etc managed good Premier League teams. I can't see any teams stopping off at a half way house following a heavy away defeat and getting smashed to bits for team bonding! Obviously, the good old days but football is a different game now. It's far more technical and tactical and coaches like Dyche are being exposed more and more in my view. How many other managers would chuck a centre back upfront instead of a recognised premier league centre forward in 2024?
Didn’t Klopp also do this with Stephen Caulker a few times?

Its last throw of the dice desperation stuff but against Fulham it actually worked. Its not much different than bringing on the big target striker for the last few minutes which absolutely loads of managers do.

In the big picture of things it’s really not that big a deal but of course it won’t stop people going over the top on here about it.

Ultimately this. Can get as angry as people want, no manager is joining until there’s clarity over the ownership.

Putting a centre back up front actually is quite a bit different to putting a striker up front, believe it or not.

Just ignored the first half of the post then?

Also by that point of the game you’re just looking for a tall player as you’re in Hail Mary territory. Very good managers have had the keeper up for corners. As usual you are making an absolute period drama over an utterly inconsequential detail in the big picture of Everton.
