2024/25 Sean Dyche

We've been about what I expect from us; goal shy and lacking cutting edge and pace but a team that is more often than not difficult to beat. Even with the horror show at united, we've conceded only 6 goals in our last 8 games.

We didn’t score a goal for 4 games

14 points after 14 games is definitely not where I expected us to be with the fixtures we’ve had. We now play a set of fixtures that we really could pick up 0 points from, leaving us on 14 points from 17 games and probably in the bottom 3. It’s not acceptable.

Yeah, like I said, goal shy, but difficult to beat more often than not. I've said all along there's not enough goals in this team and that's why I don't mind a conservative approach.

14 from 17 wouldn't be very good like and I'd not be happy with that myself. Not sure it would see us in the bottom 3 though. I mean, Wolves and Ipswich are currently on course to gather a whopping 18 points from 30 games.

If we can’t score goals then we’re actually very easy to beat, because you only need to score 1 to beat us. And if you take the lead against us then we basically just give up. So actually we aren’t difficult to beat at all, we’re the only team that’s lost to SOUTHAMPTON this season.

Well this is nonsense. Certainly on current form.

Even the bigger picture shows it to be nonsense. "Very easy to beat", yet only one team (Newcastle) in the bottom half of the table have lost less games than us.

I suspect we are going to become exceedingly easy to beat over the remainder of December.

Imagine losing to the rabble that is Manchester City...

Everton, that.

Hahaha yeah, let’s see how that’s looking after we’ve played all of the fixtures everyone else has played.

Indeed. Fact of the matter is, we've only lost to 3 bottom half teams, and 2 of them were United and Spurs. They were also all away games. So if we're gonna do "who everybody else has played" is it fair to point out that we still have to play Leicester, Southampton, West Ham and Ipswich at home? Surely some other teams have had those 'easy' fixtures already?

Well no not really because we’ve played all of those teams away and those teams have all played the teams that we haven’t yet played??

I really don’t know why you’re trying to argue that we haven’t had easier fixtures than everyone else

Your defence of Dyche and his performance is miles better than Everton’s onfield defence, that’s for certain.

Ipswich still haven't played Chelsea or Arsenal. Palace's next 2 are Brighton away, Arsenal away. We've still got some of our easiest fixtures left to play and contrary to popular belief, other teams still have a lot of tough games left. Not many teams will still be yet to play 4 of the bottom 7 teams at home like we have. Well I say 4 of the bottom 7, but that includes us, so guess it's 4 of the lowest 6 we could possibly face.

And we haven’t played Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, City or high flying Forest? So we have had easier fixtures than Ipswich and Palace haven’t we?!
