2024/25 Sean Dyche

Not fighting at all, I agree with your last sentence.
It should be noted Dyche gets praised regularly in media and on here when the ultra defensive style works. We all love a clean sheet. It usually hangs by a thread though and when that unravels the game plan means nothing. That rarely gets talked about and neither does the massive sacrifice in attacking intent to facilitate the defensive focus. It's not like he switches to it after going ahead to frustrate, it's the game plan no matter who the opposition is. I disagree that there aren't managers that can do both adequately at the same time, with this squad. Lampard is not one of them, which is why he was sacked
I’ve got to say, whilst I want my defenders to defeat, I’ve never got my kicks out of clean sheets. I just want the team to find a balance tha5 mean we outscore the opposition. A win is a win.

Lets be honest , he has been in one of the most problematic jobs in football management.
Despite the awful football , he has achieved his "brief" i.e. survival at all costs.
It would be interesting if we stay up , to see if he could adapt expansively to calmer waters.
Do I think that he will be given that privelege ?. No.
We should be grateful to him , owing to the circumstances , and the mismanagement of others above him.
He is not a pariah.
You see, I think the start of that progression was to become visible this season, not next. That’s why I think he has not progressed the team and has stalled or even regressed to an extent.

While I would happily see us have 38 clean sheets a season in the nastiest evilest way imaginable.

I see all of Dyche's faults and the general opinion here BUT if we made a couple of signings in Jan e.g Kudus & Gakpo types we were previously linked with -- I'd be interested to see how he does with them.

Yep don’t have an issue with that. General team attacking requires overlapping full backs / wing backs - but if we could get one or two attack minded individuals in the team, I still think he’ll use them in the only way he knows how, so wouldn’t hold out much hope.

I think we play worse than at the same stage last year, it's also 15p to 20p, and we played a good first half with 26p. It's still possible to get there, but no chance we will pick up 4 wins against Forest, City, LFC and Chelsea, 3 of 4 are some of the best performing teams this season.

What will be the legacy of Dyche, defensively we have improved under him 1/3 of his games in prem 24 of 71 we got clean sheets, but we need another manager to build up on that and implement a suitable playstyle and offensive idea now.

For arguments sake, lets say we remained defensive in nature. We've seen that when playing against certain teams we do and are able to play a different way.

An attacker like Kudus, Gakpo and Diaz would provide a sparkle of Xfactor which lets us down at the moment. All hard working players who could fit into a Dyche team but with cutting edge.

The fact weve been linked with those types gives me hope.

I doubt any player of their quality would want to play in a dyche system

They’d still be played in the same formation, he shows time and time again he does not really change formation and quite often that occurs during subs as well, just player for player exchanges usually too late in the game (barring one or two).

There’s always that conundrum between who sorts the targets, but if we are being linked with those types of players, as we were with Diaz, Minteh, and Kudus, I suspect it’s the DoF wanting them, not the manager. We need to strengthen if we can in January so will be interesting to see what positions we strengthen in and what he does with them.

I get what your saying Peter. However I actually quite enjoy seeing the team get a clean sheet now. The performance at Arsenal for example, there is a bit of an art to that kind of play. And when you can do it as often as we have it really is something commendable.

In an ideal world we could have two managers, one who can train the players for the winnable home games and then Dyche for the games that we need to Dyche the opposition.

They love you over on RAWK, Chic's...
I'd nip that in the bud, if I were you lad!

That's obviously yet another multi account.

Just check the bio.
