Enough said, the players don't want to play how they are coached. Surely only a matter of when not if.
It looked to me like they were doing exactly what he asks them to do. We’ve played long, hopeful balls into the box from the moment he arrived and that’s what we did today.
Had he told them to play swift, one touch passes round the edge of the box? Adventurous through balls for strikers to run on to? Overlapping fullbacks to create space for wingers? If he told them to do any of those things it would have been a remarkable change in approach.

What a ridiculous comment for him to make. Just 1 half time sub and no improvement second half until later subs says it all. That won’t keep the players on board with a new boardroom watching.
Right?

If - for the sake of argument - the XI on the pitch aren’t following instructions replace them.

Well if he didn’t before he might now.

Publicly throwing the players under the bus, again.

Well he should for the 2nd goal. Was 1.0 at half time and we dominated the ball 2nd half up until the 2nd goal and 5mins after that.

Reminded me of the United away game where if you gift goals away, you're done.

We had an attacking plan...but players are not good enough to execute the plan...we are also missing our second most creative players in mcneill and we are struggling. Our cbs also decided to have a bad game, in particular Tarkowski, coupled with very good efficiency from them as pickford did not have to do wonderful saves or anything. They were just effective. There are no easy games, and in the same way that I was expecting us to lose today, I wouldn't be surprised if we take the 3 points away at Bournemouth next week.
It’s not a plan if the players can’t execute it. Plans have to be deliverable.

You must be joking, he’s literally just threw the team under the bus, he’s out of contract in the summer and purely thinking of himself, literally May as well just said, yeah they were rubbish but it’s nothing to do with me.

Don't see how saying the team didn't do what he wanted first half, then did the 2nd, is throwing them under the bus IMO.

We improved 2nd half until we gave them a 2nd goal which killed us.

Some posters will argue that no matter who we get in that we will still be terrible...and that's a valid point tbf.
But I think we can get and do better.
But more importantly it will give everyone a bit of freshness, hope and a lift. Because it's currently awful.

I'd suggest almost any manager with this squad could get a nil nil draw against any opposition. But we need to do more. I'm over for the Villa game and been honest see it more as a chore and an obligation then looking forward to it..I'd expect most of the fan base feel the same about the game now.

So please. Make the change. Try something different. Let us look forward to watching us play. And give us a semblance of our great club back at least.
we can play better and get more points

with a different manager

Think that’s the point Dave, must of us got a bit fed up of just being OK. Time for a bit of ambition now, surely?

This squad is not good. It's a bottoming 6 squad.

People have to stop believing another manager will get us up the table with our players. They wont. Lampard and Benitez couldn't do it, and we'd get no better in than them.

If that was an improvement in the 2nd half and we are going to accept that then it says it all, we did absolutely nothing and when we did have the ball just hoofed it in the box
