2024/25 Sean Dyche

Serious question, do you think he approached the Brighton and Spurs matches in the right way, in terms of tactics and personnel?

….there was a clamour for Dixon to play today, which happened. Both Ndiaye and Lindstrom look some way short of starting on what I’ve seen, although it makes no sense (to me) that neither are played centrally when introduced. That alone is very odd.

I suppose the contention is O’Brien or Keane. He’s clearly not convinced with O’Brien at this point although I’d be starting him myself it’s not a decision I’d die in a ditch over. We’d all probably pick a different team given the chance.

We’ve not won a game in August for 3 seasons which seems crazy.

No fella. I'm not banging his drum. It's about what was right. The 4 months without a win I was hugely on the Dyche out bandwagon. And why wouldn't I? He got through to the end of the season with some good results, some progress, and yeah, given THOSE results and that he got us to 48 points overall. He was obviously going to deserve to keep going. I would never have wanted him to stay, I wanted Moyes. You seem to be fixated on me today. Fine that's how you roll. I backed Dyche when he come but he's proved to be a terrible manager in my eyes. I don't want him now BUT I will want Everton to win games whether he's in charge or not. So get off your high horse. And consider what's going.

I said fans change their opinion from May, to after a single game.

You said that wasn't true.

I then showed you it was true, by demonstrating that you said in June Dyche deserved this season.

You then wanted Dyche sacked after the first game.

Understand the point?

You say I'm fixated on you, I replied to one post you made to me earlier today. You're the one quoting me after the game demanding my opinion

Introducing 2 new players who both excel playing behind a striker to the isolated wings while moving McNeil into a central position, so he could look down at his left foot and then take as many Spurs players on while running towards his own goal whenever he got the ball? Well, that might just be the greatest tactical switch I’ve ever seen.
Enjoy the Bhuna, naans and kingfishers tonight Sean, Ian and Steve. Enjoy.

We are crying for that Brighton right winger. Someone who has pace and can beat a man.
I just don't think Dyche would've played him. I don't see him dropping Harrison or McNeil. McNeil was dreadful today, really poor, and yet played the full 90 and played the no. 10 position while N'Diaye and Lindstrom were pushed out wide. The squad is poor but Dyche is a big part of the problem.

I do, I’d prefer we don’t gamble and change managers and risk relegation which could be an absolute disaster for the club right now. Better stick with the one we’ve got that just last season got us 48pts despite several games as bad as the ones we’ve seen this season, and one woeful run. All the things people are complaining about aren’t going to change because over a season his way will be seen as enough to keep us in the league.

There’s no interest in more than that right now. Ambition, progress, decent football. They are not bothered with it. Keep us up.

I think a lot of fans agree, as much as this is utterly depressing to watch. I certainly do
Im honestly at the stage where I dont see the point is playing terrible football and surviving season in season out.
Get in a young, hungry manager, like the fella at WBA or Davide Ancelotti and have a go at playing the game using tactics.
