2024/25 Sean Dyche

We’re in a very privileged position now where we can all write holier than thou posts about how we won’t tolerate the football aesthetic, his selections, his press conferences etc. Wasn’t that long ago we were begging, BEGGING, for someone to come in and save us from the drop.

It’s thanks to Dyche’s nonsense that there’s a premier league club left for everyone to moan about 24/7. You can all bid him good riddance this summer from your hipster high horses after he’s delivered a mid table finish, turned Branthwaite into a 70 mill pound defender, cut the wage bill, reduced the net spend, got rid of most of the dead wood from the squad, and left the club in an infinitely better position than when he found it.

"We're in a very privileged position now" might be one of the funniest things I've ever read on this forum.

The club many of us have supported for decades, spent literally tens of thousands of pounds on supporting (YMMV), was taken over by a criminal who reduced us to a relegation threatened club, hired kopites and mercenaries who did nothing but make us worse in the longterm, then he finally found a 4/10 manager who would stay with the club, and we're all privileged?!?!?! Utterly demented. I hope you're correct -- I don't know what gives you such confidence.

I don't know if he'll get us mid table; I don't know if he'll get us relegated. I do know the football I watch is very bad. That was enough for the millions of Moyes out posts over the years (even with better results). But now we have to swallow bad performances *and* bad results. And we're privileged. Amazing.

Also clearing out the dead wood doesn't matter if he brings in a bunch of dead wood to replace them.

Are you using Dyche’s performances away at Anfield and the Emirates as evidence that these teams are beatable, then using that evidence as a stick to beat Dyche with for not having a go against them?

We should be aiming for a top half finish not 17th. Without the points deduction we’d have been 12th last season, is that closer to 10th or 17th?

‘that we accept Dyche’s nonsense’

Nailed it.

When he was at Everton, Birmingham, Swansea, Wigan, Portsmouth, Blackburn and Middlesbrough all won trophies. How much were they spending
I remember Wimbledon winning the FA Cu too mate. There are always flukes. If Moyes had of been given the money we have spent over recent times do you think we would be in this position? I doubt it very much. I am not advocating his return btw but he was a far better manager for us than Dyche

So 22 domestic trophies in his 11 years and 6 of them were flukes. Don’t forget Fulham,
Middlesbrough got to European finals in that period ,
Moyes had 5 or 6 attempts and didn’t get further than the last 16
