Someone mentioned this contract clause on here yesterday didn't they?
I can't get my head that even someone like Kenwright would be mad enough to put the club in a position where they could potentially handover the best part of £10m to someone like Sean Dyche.
if any further proof were actually needed that we are unequivocally the absolute worst ran football club/business in the entire world then this is it. What a total shambles. It’s funny because it’s soooo sad
If it was someone like Mourinho you could probably understand, big name taking a step down, wants an insurance policy if it goes wrong
Sean Dyche rocks in, you’d laugh in his face
Very desperate, thanks to the mess Lampard left us in.
This is why intellectual contributors such as myself, Neiler, Saint Domingo, Matty1878 et al are calling for calm heads.
Talk of sacking Dyche alone is fanciful from a financial perspective, replacing him with a top manager like Tuchel or Poch is cuckoo land stuff.
Dychettes usually told everyone else to essentially pipe down and still call him savior and other cringe titles unironically.Everton have often paid top salaries. I seem to recall Moyes being 12th/14th highest paid in the world, at some point. Smith before him was on a belting deal iirc. I've no idea who told who to pipe down, mate. Neither do I recall anyone referred to him as the messiah, apart from those using it in a sarcastic tone because they want him gone. Maybe I just missed those posts? Regardless, Everton paying top whack is nothing new.
I was confused at “intellectual”@matty1878 a calm head.
I don’t know who he is but it comes from Bobble he says.
I've always been arsed about us paying through the nose for mediocrity. Whether that's our various overpaid managers or our legion of overpaid players. It's why we're in such a mess now. Fickle is not complaining, or worse, justifying profligate spending then complaining we don't have any money for players.People weren't arsed about the money when Doucs slotted to keep us up 18 months ago.
People weren't arsed about the money when we stayed up last season, with two points deductions.
Christ, talk about fickle.
We've had mediocrity or worse for the best part of 40 years mate, on and off the pitch. We've been big spenders for longer than that, whether it was on the so called best talent, back in the day, or now we're no longer capable of securing said talent, we pay top dollar for those who manage the club.I've always been arsed about us paying through the nose for mediocrity. Surely this can’t be true ?If this is true when we deserve what we get to the end of the season.
Exactly - gardening leave until end of season. Not sacked, just not performing his role of manager, which many would argue he hasn't been doing for most of his time here anyway. So Dyche is on a 5m a year contract that has 9 or 10 months left.
If he's fired at any point before his contract runs out, he's entitled to a further 5m?
That can't be right. There's no way that's accurate. Incentivizing the manager to quit right at the end of the last season at Goodison?
Just put him out to pasture and pay down his contract.
This is all so annoying.
Well, as soon as he comes to the conclusion he won't get a new contract regardless of results... which is probably true if he didn't get an extension in the summer... he is incentivised to do badly.Surely this can’t be true ?
If it was as it stands he is guaranteed £5m . But if he gets sacked he will double his money instantly?
No wonder he messed up so badly on Saturday, he is playing for the sack.
£10m in his back pocket and a few months off work . It must be tempting.
