2024/25 Sean Dyche

The thing is there's still only 2 points that separates 20th to 15th...after a nightmare start of 4 straight losses.

Let's not lose our heads just yet.

Inevitable that the manager is facing calls to be replaced, and I dont blame people for being extremely unhappy.

Two things to bear in mind though:

1/ Branthwaite's absence has cost us about 4/5 points IMO.

2/ Dyche has months left on his contract. The Everton board won't want another pay out on their hands.

Least he has players “on the grarrrsss”

Arrogant get needs to go asap.

I said after Bournemouth on here “it’s going to get worse before it gets better” and someone laughed at me. Next game he does the same thing. And you know what, he will still be there getting outwitted on Saturday by Cooper. It will get worse until he goes, only then can we start our season.

He can't really moan too much about injuries either. I'm pretty sure Lampard almost never had Calvert lewin available

They deserved the win they were the better side, they had way more quality.

We had chances to get a result but again quality. You could argue their last two goals were fortuitous. But they deserved them.

We were never in control of the game and never got a foothold, second to most things.

Still we could have got a result.

Were in a tough spot, were light at the back particularly full back and we needed a settled back four - don’t think we’ve started a game yet with the same back four. Maybe today and Brighton, but then lost Myko.

You're a very intelligent and level headed contributor sir.

We've been unlucky today against a very good side.

Here is the class clown spouting utter bubbles

Villa spent £145m this summer

They brought in £176m

And what did they spend last summer ? And the summer before that ?

What have we spent in comparison ?

We've lost Digne, Richarlison, Gordon, Onana & not had the finances to replace them.

You're drinking deludemol expecting us to be able to turn up at Villa Park and play them off the park just because we're Everton.

When the instruction is 'Work Hard' and we go on a 14 game run without winning. we go on a 4 game start of the season losing streak for the 1st time in 66 years I suspect the manager is clueless. We have decent players we have bad players so he has to get the best out of them such as more possession, and attackers being attackers first and not concentrate how they can help us out defensibly. Use their strengths instead of shoe horning

Aye mate.

People always bang on about that awful run without a win.

People never mention the good run we had;

But my point and one I've been making for ages is in my view, the team we have now - a team that hasn't had a penny spent on moving it on 3 years now, is bottom 5 of the league quality.

It was in 2022, and we had a better team then.

Before Dyche;

See.

Crap.

Well let's see what OBrien is all about

Fans were screaming for Lindstrom for McNeil and from what I've seen of him - I'm not so sure...

Who?
Give the lads a run out or sell them on or cancel the loans. Why get players in to introduce them when the season is under way. We knew we needed improvement but he is loathe to play new players. Either he doesn't fancy them or hangs on to the PL experience garbo. Why does Kevin Thelwell even bother.

Agree with Texter comments about if he can handle more technical players

I never ever thought we were gonna beat Villa anyway to be fair.
Neither did anyone but the manner of the defeat, a second capitulation from a relatively comfortable position (scoreline, not anything else, tbf), is extra demoralising for the fans and the players. Not that Dyche is arsed, of course.

I think people hoped we might hang on for a point after being given a two-goal start...
