Honestly don’t think they will, think Sky will want to turn it into some kind of event for TV, just hope the club manage it with a bit of dignity, think the games to be at will be the ones before the last one - often the way - semis are often better occasions then finals because they are organic. That’s what I’m doing anyway.
Don’t go getting hopeful on me today!
Hard to know what Everton turn up, injuries won’t help, I think he will think the result may be more important then the performence - he’s prob right. Hes going to hand possession to Leicester - that’s their game. I think he could play Doucoure and Garner if fit today and Tim comes out - try and shore it up in the middle were we have been getting overrun and play a low block with Vardy.
You know my take and reasons for it - but ultimately it’s a results industry and we know and he will know he needs results and sharp.
If I’m honest I thought he looked a bit worn this week, I’m beginning to think he thinks, he could be better off out of it.
Yeah , I totally agree about the making goodbyes before the last game ( and about semi -finals) . The club will mess up the last game with shmaltzy ‘celebrations ’ no doubt .
With Dyche , I confess during the Bournemouth about the 80min mark , I thought I was going to be coming on here afterward admitting begrudging praise for him, it was the best game I have seen under him , Felt like we were in control for a change.
To be honest , he was already earning my respect for his love of music which I share with him.
But then the wheels came off , spectacularly.
His in game management, which has never been his strongpoint was fatally exposed.
Everyone could see that Harrison , Irroegbunam and Coleman where tiring.. But when he interceded it was to replace two players who were giving them the most to worry about.
Not only that , the adjustments he made to seemingly accommodate Doucoure and Beto further exposed our midfield and defence to the fresh legs of Bournemouth. Yet he chose not to strengthen the defence with Dixon or O’Brien.
For me, it was one of the worst cases of in game management I’ve ever seen.
Even worse in the aftermath he chose to shirk any responsibility for it, thereby choosing to throw his players under the bus. Which compounded what I already believed was particularly bad management.
He quite literally snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
It’s a long way back for him now to convince me that he is capable of continuing as our manager.
I hope he can start that journey today.
Always want our team to win games whoever the manager is , or what’s the point ?
I take no pleasure in defeat.
( although I did raise a wry smile when City defeated us at Goodison to deny the RS)
At present I would sack Dyche immediately, but if he can prove me wrong and start winning games , with at least a modicum of attacking intent, then we will all be happy.
It’s over to you Sean .
