2024/25 Sean Dyche

Half the team is running on empty in the middle of second half and all he did was one substitute on 61min and another at 81st.

Plenty of talk about tactics but it’s more like tired players losing concentrations every game week in week out.

Dyche’s tactics eats up awful lot of raw stamina, it’s impossible to sustain full 90mins of decent football without mistakes from front to back due to fatigue and we’re playing at twice the speed we did last season.

Make more substitutions, slow it down, it’s not rocket science.

Our players are really really fit now.

One of Dyches strong points is making the players 10x fitter than anyone else.

A lot of these players are mentally weak, beginning to think many of them need to see a sports psychologist.

Think we would have lost that game if it went another 10 mins.

There’s a psychological problem with some of the players.
In top-level sport, everyone has ability. It's what's upstairs that separates the great from the good. All of our players are "good". They made it to the Premier League. But none of them have anything about themselves upstairs - with the questionable exception of the goalkeeper, whose mental strength appears to be in opposition to his intelligence. This is why they play for us right now, at the lowest point of our modern history. Because they are not up to it. And neither are we.

Mental strength is part of the game. Our players lack it. Ergo, they are not adequate players.

Dissapointed with the result myself, we left two points behind there.

Players stopped trying for the build up for their goal, unacceptable, refused to compete for the second ball. Bad attitude, poor mentality - the very thing that lost at Villa and Bournemouth.

We created so many good chances, you can’t leave them behind you, they were high % scorable, again players fell to peices in the box.

Think Allardyce of all people identified this and appointed one, not sure if they're still at the club

Agreed. I don't see much different from last season, except we can play a bit more football and we've leaked bad goals last few games. As if changing the manager going to change the mess we've been in for a while now. No one's happy, but in football things change for no apparent reason and it's often just about the grind. Let's see where we are after this run of games against teams our level.
100% this ^^^

We are actually in better shape overall than last season in terms of squad depth and possibilities.

The sack the manager brigade need to pipe down. It isn't happening.

That was an away point against one of the worst 3 teams in the league. An away point is always ok but let's not pretend it's a good result.
I'm not pretending anything. Your point is like saying Everton are the worst team in the league because we were bottom. It's five games in and that's no time at all.

Leicester will get safe. They're ok too.

I genuinely think they need a sports psychologist.

Funny you should mention Pickford, he’s used one.

The problem with not wanting possession is you end up chasing the ball and chasing a shape. Players become knackered. As we have seen from 65 minutes onwards.
We haven’t scored from this time and conceded the majority of our goals from this time onwards.

If Dyche was a bit braver and set up the team to have more of the ball, we’d have better results.

Not yet. But it’s inevitable now. He is going to go.

It will get worse for us before it gets better, but Dyche will be gone. It’s happening.

It isn't happening. And it's deeply questionable that any replacement will definitely do better.

But only a masochist would go out to bat for Dyche. If he's sacked, so be it. If he isn't, let's hope he does enough to keep us up, because Everton is simply not worth watching.
