2024/25 Sean Dyche

I think you’re right. Would like to go on a little run of points per game now to make doubly sure.

I also think that I don’t want him to squeeze a penny more out of us than is absolutely necessary.

Let him run his contract down - bid him goodbye in June.
That has to be the club's thinking.

Hopefully by then a takeover by a rich owner is done and we can start strengthening a little more.

Is what i was thinking even before the season thought it was a good chance for him to show he should get a new deal. Still has time to turn it around but well hard to really ever get away from the fans feeling about him now.

Forgot they were the Brighton globetrotters.

It's a winnable fixture.

Swear some would only consider dross like Ipswich at home a winnable fixture.

I find it really strange how people on this forum have to go to extremes to make their point.

Brighton are quite clearly a good team, evidenced by their start to this season and competing in Europe last season despite having a below average year by the standards they've now set (which still had them comfortably mid-table).

They're not world class or amazing but they're not dross either.

Who isn't a good side? Who should we be targeting for points at home? Genuine question.
The teams that finished more or less the same as us last season / those that finished below. I know that Brighton did last year but they had a terrible injury crisis coupled with a European run. Their start this season and their performance the season before I think shows that they're a comfortable top 10 side now, pushing for top 8. We aren't. We are a club that has targets of c. 15th-12th. That's the reality of our club right now and it feels like it's hard for people to admit. I don't want to be a club that has those targets, or for Brighton to be a better side than us currently, but they simply are.

Wait. What?

Palace look turd there.

If we can keep it locked up at the back we can get our first win next week.
Huh?

We cant expect to get anything from Palace at Home, thats surely a TOUGH game?

Oh wait.

Maybe if you read the whole of the post instead of just the bolded then you'd understand.
You argue one point, then immediately argue against it. By extension we could make your argument for Bournemouth or Wolves being a superior team that we can't realistically target points against, which leaves us what? The promoted teams only?

P.S. to finish 12th to 18th we'd need 5-8 worse teams that we can target. Please name them so I know what we're talking about.

I argue it by caveating the context of clubs in immediate prior seasons and this season too because context matters. I, think last year was a blip for Brighton and the way they've begun this season makes me feel like they will have a season akin to the one before last hence why I think they're a better side than us.
