2024/25 Sean Dyche

Whereas sadly a draw will probably buy him another devastating run of fixtures.

Sadly I don't think he goes any time soon regardless.

But he deserves to.

We are not getting a draw on Saturday. Absolute no chance. I’ve never been more sure of a defeat in a fixture against one of the worst teams in the league.

That’s his brief, get 38 points per season (which is what winning 33% of all available points will give you).

That’s how far we’ve sunk.
Wasn’t sure what to make of it really, yes it gets you safe, and last season all told wasnt a bad effort. My view was that he should have a short leash as I think it only right we say a development in style of play with a minor uplift in point e.g. 50ish but it’s been that much of a terrible start, not sure about whether he can recover it and get it back on track. He doesn’t seem to be able to get out of his own way.

Head scrambled 🤪 so you are saying for every minute they had the ball we had it for 12 secs
Nope. It was someone else that said one minute of Southampton having the ball and 15 seconds of us having the ball. They were right in saying that’s 20% position for us. If they had said out of one minute of game time we had the ball for 15 seconds that would have been 25%, as they would have had the ball for the remaining 45 seconds. It’s just the way it was worded. They have the ball for one minute and we have the ball for 15 seconds added together is 75 seconds. Our possession is Theodore 15 out 75 not 15 out of 60. 20%

Heard a few say we were unlucky, no we weren't, Southampton were the better team and deserved to win. They had a plan, we were all over the gaff.
Well, we do have a plan, it's the same plan as for literally every other game, defend deep hoof it up front. It's just a bad plan, and a plan that every other team knows we will be utilising. It's so depressing.

I didn't have a problem with the team selection last night. I was glad to see Virginia, Dixon, O Brien, Mangala, Lindstrom, Ndiaye and even Beto get on the pitch.

I thought the substitutions made sense as well.

I believe however that group of players were good enough to have more than 26% over the game. I thought we didn't press enough, made no attempt to retain control of the ball , to pass around the opposition and eventually paid the price of letting a mediocre team dictate the game.

Unfortunately, even if we had all our first choice players available I don't think it would have been much better.
They seemed to be 1/2 arsed , completely .

We’re all experts in managers leaving or being sacked because we’ve seen so many but one of the last steps feels like when a manager seems to have no idea what to do to correct the issues on the pitch , like no real idea how to rectify obvious problems. Unfortunately the last few games we really seem to be getting to that stage , I’m really not convinced he knows how to sort out issues .

Cant be judged without having Branthwaite back in the centre of defence with Tarkowski.

That was the combination that handed us the 4th most solid defence in the PL last season.

Iraola is on 1/5th of Dyche, as are half the Prem's managers.

I honestly believe you're being a lot more naive if you believe no one in European (to narrow it from world) football wants to try with a "sleeping giant" team and for a bunch of money.
The difficulty I think is that not many see us as a ‘sleeping giant’ any more.

So if Branthwaite gets a long term injury we just aren’t allowed to judge Dyche?

The guy is crap, his football is horrific and he’s alienating more of the fanbase every time he opens his mouth.

Anyone else bothered that he has only negatively addressed the last season at Goodison?
I could almost 'smell' his smug satisfaction at being out of the cup,
'that'll realism the romantic ingrates' the Terry's Chocolate Orange rustled, 'DIXONNN, GET BACK FROM THAT HALF WAY LINE'

Can't figure out why he wouldn't try to use it as motivation for himself, the players and the fans. Instead choosing to dismiss an imaginary story about expecting Europe in case people wanted more than lots of losses is a bit daft tbh

Arguing with Dyche fans is much like arguing with Trump fans, lost to a cult mentality, in which their 'man' can do no wrong, despite both being utterly awful (for different reasons mind)

Excuses made for him, for absolutely everything.

But maybe thats what the people who run us want, a club with no standards, no ambition, and no backbone.

The longer Dyche stays, the worse it is for us long term.
