2024/25 Sean Dyche

They were our peers last season, then how much did Brighton net spend that summer? And what about Fulham? Look at the calibre of players they brought in. Now how much did Everton net spend?

In Fulham’s case, if both managers haven’t changed and one side has spent more money than the other then would you not expect them to be a bit better?

People seemingly just ignore the opposition when throwing about some of these shouts. Fulham are a good team who I believe have a better squad than we do.
Whilst there is validity in your 2nd paragraph, surely a prem coach should be demonstrating an improvement in players s and an ability to vary tactics. Both factors are, I. My view totally absent.

I think people still think of Fulham as being a side with Simon Davies in it. They've recruited well.
even of we recruited good footballers Dyche wouldn't play them as they don't put the hard yards in, and don't defend well, hence why Ndiaye didn't play start of the season and Branthwaite, Mangala yesterday, he will always play his mates McNeil Doucoure Harrison Keane Young

The amount of lads I’m speaking to who are saying the exact same thing.

They’ve just stopped watching us, as it’s ruining their weekends and wasting a lot of money in the process.

It’s like Allardyce re visited all over again.
There certainly feel like similarities including the idea we’re privileged to have him.

I didn’t want dyche but think he did a decent enough job in his first two seasons but this one is becoming tiresome . For me it’s amplified because it’s our last at goodison, I think he’ll get til the end of the season and keep us up which seems to be where we are but god it’s a hard watch .

The way Everton set up and play under Dyche absolutely disgusts me.

I could sort of understand it if we were playing City away but Fulham FFS , Fulham at home , dear god.
And I don't think it's too unfair to surmise that it won't be a brand of football that will be appealing to many of the players in the first team squad.

If you have players shouting over to the bench during the game, you get a picture that there is an undercurrent of frustration.

Are we not entitled to expect some form of progress, development or advancement after a Summer in which new players have been brought in for a manager who has been here for 20 odd months? Are we just stuck in this doom loop of watching the unimaginative dross he serves up and excusing him? My point was that the teams we have played at home (bar Newcastle) were our peers last year yet we’ve only managed one win against them this season. The reason being that the PE teacher on the sidelines is a limited coach with appalling in-game management skills.

This.
I cut him lots of slack last season as it was what it was with the whole PL deductions farce.
But yeah. Are we ever going to move on or attempt to move on from the most spit & sawdust approach. I'll take scrappy wins. I'll take last minute draws. Best sides in the world get days like that.
But when you know you're going to get out classed by even a middle of the table side you know you need a manager with a bit more than we "kept our shape"
We've beat palace and ipswich. Two sides who've played nearly 20 games combined this season and have 0 wins. So results wise its a concern we havent got a win in us above the bottom 3/4.
But also its so basic and lacking in any ideas against even a half decent side. And i dont think dyche will ever move on or away from that. He is what he is by hook or crook. But does that mean you just accept that is your limit. Your lot. Your end of any sort of hope/expectation.

He only moved Keane up coz McNeill was injured didn't he?
Reckon it was not even 2 minutes of Beto coming on and Nydiaye coming central that Mcneil was injured, then Dyche put Keane up top. Good to see changes formations. Also pretty sure we will see a better player in Beto with Nydiaye threading balls threw opposistion back line.

Well in his only full season here so far the team improved by 12 points whilst the club turned a transfer profit, so he must have done something.

Quite simply if he was genuinely doing all the stuff people are accusing him of we wouldn’t still be in the league.

Its the most ruthless cut throat league in the world with top managers and top players and people are seriously pretending that you can get 48 points against these other teams and managers by hoofing and looking for flick ons to no one. As if these managers would genuinely lose games against a team whose only method of playing was that.

The other thing is that managers in this league catch on to predictability, it’s why some managers have a decent half season and then next season are relegated or fired. Managers adapt and suss out tactics. If Dyche is still getting results 22 months later then the only logical conclusions are he either is varying his tactics or his plan A is so effective that some prem managers even 22 months can’t counter it.

For those who say he hasn’t demonstrated an improvement. If you could show a table of all Pl teams points per net pound spent improvement during the time Dyche has been here where do we think he would be? Then look at where the club was when he arrived and the squad we had and ask could we really have asked more of him than that?

They’re a good outfit ….

But we know that ….

We didn’t do the ugly side of the game well enough today , the hard yards, tracking back, tackling , you know tha basics … that’s why we didn’t score .

But we will continue to work hard and there were signs good signs today , Keano was great as he has been all season , but things were bad before my time here and we are working hard to change the story .

Oh …. Back on the grass
Don’t forget the nuts and bolts!

Again find myself agreeing with this . I don’t expect us to play like 70’s Brazil or Galicticos Madrid but to play like we’re away to either of them when we’re at home to Fulham grinds my gears .

I’m not some football hipster , I don’t need 200 passes but the set up in that first half , I felt like I had to pinch myself . Like you say I think he’ll keep us up walk away and say job done and do you know what maybe there is a element of truth to that it’s been a tough ride but Jesus man have some ambition .

I honestly thought Dyche and his game management was poor last night. I sit in the top Balc and watch him a bit during games.

He appears never to offer support it’s always “big chest” and for the most part appears to attack the players.

Yesterday Fulham’s cbs had the easiest game of their lives, it was crying out for 2 up front, hoofing the ball up and not having anyone 20 yards near DCL was a joke.

Oh here comes Beto he must be taking off some of the players who have been awful… no, he goes like for like.

That sub in itself showed he cannot change a game by himself what was he point in going like for like? Change the game up change the system cos it wasn’t working before.

McNeil going off was a joke too - medical team pulling him off he was shaking his head saying he couldn’t go on - Dyche didn’t even have a sub ready until he had walked down the line and Dyche asked him if he was done and gave him the dirtiest look.

Am done with him, he’s got an ego his record and ability can’t match, talks absolute utter nonsense and I actually think he doesn’t barely have a plan A, let along bcd.

I was laughing the other day people talking about Mourinho, yes they both play pragmatic football but Mourinho is light years ahead.

Honestly I hated Allardyce, but his football was effective and better then Dyche and I never thought I would say that.

Thanks for keeping us up, but I would like a coach who can read games and improve players.

Season with 25% gone so far 1 ppg….projected season end at 38. This projection would put us 10 behind last season. Form aside (first four games, last five games aside etc) that’s where the points reality of where we currently are plus extremely poor football (if you can call it that).

Last season 38 points got us 16th vs what our on pitch points tally would have gotten us which is 13th. Statistically at least on course for a worse season, with a slightly better squad, and less negative noise around the club. Hardly a ringing endorsement so far of progress.

Why are people elevating Fulham to being some kind of quasi Brazil 1970 outfit? Yes, they are a decent side but they’ve won one more game than us this season, lost just one less and we are just 3 points behind them having lost our 4 opening fixtures. Is it really too much to ask that we, (drumroll) try and actually beat Fulham at home? Is that too lofty an ambition or too much of a stretch for Sean Dyche? Appears it is.

Not glamorous either.

Couldn't believe Match of the Day last night that spent more time praising Southampton and how they play football, using quotes from Pep. If it wasn't for poor finishing that game would've been 5.0 to City.

But no. A side with 1 point and zero wins in 9 play football the right way so they get a pat on the head.
