Secret work enemies

This afternoon I’m part of a scheme to shadow different departments. Whilst I’m fine with this idea in general this has been named the ‘live my life’ initiative. Not even joking. At 2 o clock I’ve got to go to a different department and say ‘hey, I’m here as part of the live my life initiative’ I’m planning on saying that quite a lot actually.

4 months into my new job now and I still have no idea what I’m doing….. the great thing is I have a brand new staff team under me and they also have no idea what they’re doing. When my manager asks why something hasn’t been done I just reply with “bloody hell , I asked the team to bloody do that last week, leave it with me” whilst shaking my head in disappointment. It seems to be working so far.

Wish I had your luck really. For the most part our boss is pretty knowledgeable but also insanely demanding, colleague I work together with is gonna leave in 3 months so I'm kinda taking over duties, etc., gradually, which I don't mind, but it's still stressful ffs.

On another note I have a work, uh, I can't call her enemy but just annoyance. Very demanding and basically constantly either asking for stupid things or just asking "IS THIS DONE YET?" every single effing day ffs We're mostly WFH though so best I can do is ignore her or pretend I'm super busy, even if I'm not lol

Can't edit the above post but complained and she genuinely just asked if a task that shouldn't even be assigned to me is done yet. Despite the 3 channels she'll receive a note from if it is even being worked on.

There’s a new employee where I work and he abbreviates his own surname on his email signature.

Immediately gone to the top of my Interpol list.

This guy has become a serious problem. Absolute biggest pain in my arse at work by a mile. Every email he sends makes me want to rip his little head off.

Start replying in Japanese, when questioned reply with that's the language you thought his abbreviations were in and were responding in kind.

Forward his email to the whole company but edit his part with something lewd and suggestive.

"Hi All, sorry to bother you but this is not the kind of working environment I am used to. Can I remind EVERYONE to remain respectful at all times"

Edit his bit to:

Me and a lad work make enemies of people who are enthusiastic and want to change and implement things. Because we’ve both mastered the art of doing close to nothing we see these people as a threat. Luckily our manager doesn’t like people with ideas and actual competence. I guess he’s wary he’ll be done for to. It’s just self preservation from us. So any excuse to throw these type of people under the bus we do.

We often talk about our behaviour and agree we are terrible people.

In the office for a first time in a while. Looking up From my desk at people who think they are actually of some importance and are marching about with an air of self entitlement and I’m thinking ‘You’re ants! We’re all ants! What we do here means NOTHING! Get over yourselves’

Yep. Just got to get through it. Nothing jobs with nothing tasks. Watching management walk off with bonuses and bumper pay offs. Just do bare minimum and hope it’s gets you over the line.
