Secret work enemies

HR are the worst. Supposedly they operate an open door policy at our place, but they’re never in the office, apart from Wednesday, when they go out for a two hour lunch. The latest nonsense they’ve started is the ‘green committee’. Arranging weekly meetings about how the office can be run more environmentally friendly. Everyone else in the building has a mountain of work to be doing, apart from these clowns.

One of the worst decisions I made was to move into a Project Manager role. Having done it for 2 years I realised it wasn't for me. Interviewed internally to go back into an Engineering role which I have over 10 years experience in and they didn't give me the job. Very political decision as they don't want to risk losing resource in the PM team so now I'm stuck doing something I'm just not enjoying.
Engineers rule. Project Managers drool.

I only part jest. The project managers always seem to get ground down where I work. I found out the current PM for our projects has gone because he couldn't take it anymore.

If it makes you miserable though, you're better off out and finding something that you do. Imagine in 20 years time looking ack of over 20 years of misery - no one would choose to that in a right mind.

This reminds FB92 of a DM he received from a lad in the States a few month back asking how to emotionally handle a difficult member of his University class group project who was bringing the team morale down with his unhelpful antics.

My answer then is the same as it is now - somewhere on another existential plane (or another forum) you may have someone asking that very same question in regards to yourself.

They'll always be sources of conflict in a group setting. How you process that conflict essentially determines how close you're to understanding "enlightenment".

Shut up you bell no one's arsed about what you write in your journal before bed.

Did you learn how to type in the third person in uni mate?

Resorting to personal insults in every dialogue you engage in doesn't make you "tough" or "cool" kind sir.

I see you moan a lot about your colleagues and fellow blues - maybe you're the problem with that rather large chip on your shoulder ?

If you feel I could use some spiritual guidance I'd be more than pleased to take a look at your work if it's going to be useful (: I'm sure you wouldn't mind expanding your brand and getting more customers involved.

Get his home address and sign him up to that much spam mail it's literally overflowing out of his mail box every day. He'd never bother mentioning it at work but you'd know it'd be on his mind constantly. Plus all the pizzas and taxis you keep sending him will have him frazzled.
I may have resorted to similar in the past. 🤷‍♂️
This was my particular favourite though.
When I worked for the NHS I had a raging hatred of one particularly arrogant 'manager' who was boastful of some 'research' that he had done on a certain subject.
A couple of months after his 'research' I noted that there was to be a Seminar about a very similar subject being arranged at a Hotel in London.
I set up an email address in the name of one of the organisers and contacted him to say that I was aware of his work and would be grateful of his attendance.
After corrosponding via several emails and building a rapport with the snivelling pratt, I invited him to do a short presentation on his research findings. I promised him that travel and other out of pocket expences would be paid.
He duly turned up at this event only to be greeted by people who had never heard of him and had no idea what the 'F' he was doing there.
