Them finishing where they did last season is one of the biggest over achievements I have ever seen

I remember last year they were up 1-0 against us around the 50th min and just said to myself, they are better than us and they know it. They scored the next goal around 10 min later. Looks like a bit of clubs are ready for what they throw at them, injuries and losing henderson.

The refereeing was abysmal, he got so many things wrong. The commentary wasn’t much better. Anybody who says you should take a dive shouldn’t be allowed to commentate on TV

.
Gomez tried to draw a foul, in my opinion that is wrong. It is cheating. The dive in the first half was a very poor attempt to con the referee. Both should have been booked.

I played, albeit at amateur level, where you had to be tripped, pushed or otherwise impeded in a meaningful way to be awarded a penalty, however today’s rules appear to say it is a penalty if you get touched in the box.

The way the game is nowadays I think players have to play for the foul. Not saying it is right, but they are professionals, they are being paid to win games, and they should do everything they can within the rules to do that. Now the rules and the way they are applied might be [Poor language removed], but you can only work within the constraints put upon you.

Don't hate the playa...

Gone for Davies as man of the match definitely defensive mid fielder, an excellent under study for Allan.

Have to say he did great and I cannot usually stand him.

But credit where it is due. the lad was very good.

Davies gets a lot of undue stick on here. He's not giving 8/9 out of ten every week, but he's a lot better than a lot of people normally give him credit for. And when people complain about us crabbing and always playing sideways, he's the one who tries to turn and play forward thru the lines when he can.

DCL did his job well today, difference between us and a lot of other teams in the league is that when we're under pressure, we can always hoof the ball up and have a good chance of the ball sticking. I think the importance of his hold up play is understated.

He'll start firing again when our key midfielders are back from injury.
Even with his improved goalscoring this season, that for me is his biggest asset. It makes the rest of the game so much easier for us when we have that out ball. It's the one thing we were missing with Lukaku. If only we could combine their two skill-sets in one player!

We weren't great tonight, but good to get the three points. Didn't massively look like scoring until we did, and after that wasn't confident that we'd keep the clean sheet. Let them get a few good chances and even away from home in a banana skin game we should be putting teams in their position and form away, even taking into account our injuries etc.

Went for Mina ,but easily could have been Davies chuffed for him
,like a number of players under Carlo here's hoping he can turn his form around.
Siggy also performed well taken goal perfectly timed.
With three top players out we are looking good and couldnt have asked for more but this season has been highly unpredictable
In Carlo I trust!

Just watched it, delayed. First thoughts are I hope SU go down and never come back. Like watching Wimbledon ftom years back but without their class.
3 points, Tom as MOTM , COYB !

....we’ve had the ‘Dogs of War’ and now we’ve got the ‘Grinders’.

Ancelotti has found a way to win without our most creative talent ( Richarlison, Digne and Rodriguez). It might not be pretty but it’s effective and fair play to him, it’s the challenge a manager has to meet. I thought his substitutions worked well, Bernard kept the ball and provided some threat in the top third whilst Coleman gave us another dimension.

Sigurdsson must read GOT, I posted amongst the plaudits from the last game that he needs to get on the end of chances and score vital goals. 1-0 Sigurdsson should be a more regular Scorecast. Mina is playing really well, he’s been my my MoM for two consecutive games but this time I’m going for Davies who I thought was brave in possession and effective in CM alongside Doucoure who also put in a shift. DCL and Godfrey consistently contribute.

Well done The Grinders. UTFT.
