My dad had it a few years ago. He’s typically one of those “suck it up and get on with it” arl fellas, but it completely wiped him out.
I had it when I was a kid, too young to remember remember much, but told I was screaming and I weren’t much of a crying child.

I remember him not getting out of bed for about a week and him being in a pretty bad way.
I had it a few years ago around the top of my hip. Had to walk around the house with my trousers pulled up like Simon Cowell. Even my blankets laying on me at night was sore. When I was at the doctor I asked if my son would be ok as he's stayed away from me an she said no, within the next 3-4 days he'll have chicken pox. And sure enough on the 4th day he was covered from head to toe in chicken pox.
Had it in my head years a go.
Felt like my skull had toothache.
Couldn't stand anybody even speaking to me.
Be careful you will think you are over it, feel OK weeks later it will knacker you again for days again.
Only thing as bad pain wise was neuralgia

I've had it, affected my shoulder. Very painful but the treatment does work, even if you don't think it'll ever end. Good luck.
I had it last week, the antivirals will kick in quite quickly from my experience and once the rash moves past the water blister phase you will feel way better.
I was luck enough not to have any flu symptoms.
Ask for some co-codomol for the pain if they didn't give you any, avoid very hot showers and get better soon mate

I had it just before COVID started. I thought it was an old person thing. I was laid up for about 5 weeks with it. Make sure you take the meds they give you or you can get permanent nerve damage.
