Yes a mild dose caught it when I was running the cubs - you catch it off someone who has chicken pox virus you cannot give it to anyone - a type of Herpies ' very painful as it attacks your nerve endings a horrible thing to catch - Shingles is far worse than Chicken pox - that's the source of catching it - stays around for a while too sadly - don't listen to myths that you are contagious.
You are not - harder to get rid of in old age people.

Nobody can contract shingles from you, but people who haven't had chicken pox before (particularly children) could contract that from you.
It was the brats who gave it to me lol I was allowed to go to work with the rash on my arm covered up to keep dirt out the only medicine then was a paint solution that you put on your nerve endings - I was lucky only had a very mild dose - have you had chicken pox when you were a child? As if you have, it should have a good immunity to get rid of it quickly
Best of luck you have probably gone through the worst of it all already depending on where it's attacked your body ....
He does need to be careful if he has any contact with children who have never had chicken pox.
