If we'd lost all away matches fair cop can't have a pop. All home matches expect arsenal are 3 points each. Sorry not good enough. Brentford thought we played well got lucky Brentford didn't turn up. Villa game again we played well.
Fans are going to get on your back when you play defence at home, been like since the game even was invented.

Is it a case of we get a draw at home and try and pinch 3 away or something 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

@bbcsport Dyche: “It’s a hard one to swallow. In difficult conditions today I thought we (Everton) deserved not just one but all three points. To come away with nothing is tough on the players who put a good shift in. I’m not sure if these the conditions, bad luck or the nervousness around Goodison but we will shake ourselves down and go again. It’s a competitive league with no easy games”.
He’s the worst for blaming the fans. Benitez hated us but he understood and accepted that we hated him back. Dyche just alienates people on purpose cos it fits his hard man self image

He has the setup working fine away from home - where having Garner out wide at least makes us a bit more solid.

At home though…against Luton in particular…it’s criminal to be playing four centre midfielders, and then our only natural wise man in McNeill spending half the game coming inside…we just don’t have the full backs to offer any attacking threat for that to be the shape.

We won’t score many goals this year, dcl or no DCL.

Did Dyche say the nervousness around Goodison didn't help today?
If anything I actually went the game today feeling more optimistic than for a long time after the last 2 away games, I thought we are playing Luton who are actually an awful team and we're, but still beat Dyches team who set up not to concead by having 2 defensive midfielders in front of the solid back 4, who also brought every player back into our 6 yard box for their corners, but they still scored from a corner.

Bournemouth at home next week is huge, he loses that and the fans will turn nasty on him, verbally

  1. Every player back defending
  2. EIGHT lined up on the edge of the box, twoof them (Douc, Dom) doing absolutely nothing besides standing there.
  3. Branthwaite and Tarkowski covering the same fella.
  4. Lutons #9 completely unmarked, with nobody aware he's even there.

I get the theory behind zonal marking, but it needs total understanding from all players, it helps if their really good players. To ask average plodders to zonal mark is like asking Pep Guardiola to manage Port Vale. They'd still be Port Vale.

Dyche isn't the man to improve our fortunes.

I know we're not blessed with left backs but I can imagine any opposition manager telling his side to stick an extra man on the right during crosses because Myko never checks behind him.

How come it's not spotted and dealt with by our own manager?

Maybe you've hit it on the head just trying to be trendy. Grab your opposite number by the scruff of their neck and stick like poo to them.

Like you say the zonal marketing has a purpose but takes like in your screen grab a couple to not focus and your Daffy ducked.

Exactly, zonal is great in theory, but everyone needs to be 100% switched on all of the time.

I wont work with our lot.

Once the manager starts using the fans as an excuse for losing, it is always the beginning of the end of their tenure. It is completely down to Dyche and his team to take the nervousness away from Goodison and it starts by giving them something to be proud of and not losing every single game. Don't give a toss about lame excuses and diverting blame, nobody else can change it but him and his team.

Supporters are angry and frustrated with half assed efforts, baffling selections, negative tactics and never ending defeats and embarrassments and they have every right to be after being in relegation fights for 3 years running with zero improvement.

There is no way back for this beaut. One of the worst Managers we have ever had, period.

I don`t agree with the Pep analogy, over time you`d see Peps plan coming through in terms of patterns of play etc, and results will improve from that, again as the players learnt his way of playing, this might take longer further down the line due to ability but you`d soon see an upturn in style and results.

Dyche has been here for 9 months, still nothing has changed despite the high turn over of players, still getting the same results as last season. Only a poo manager like Dyche could get the players we have in and do worse, yet here we are.

There is a reason Dyche was out of work for so long, it was just a lazy appointment because he was cheap and nobody else wanted him.

Wrong team from the off yesterday. Should have had McNeil, Harrison and danjuma all playing behind the striker yesterday. We knew we would have most the ball, so it would require some creativity to break them down. Doucoure for all is hard work is more effective away from way when we have space to break into. James garner and onana should have started in the middle as a 2 with gana on the bench. Just to negative at home especially against crap teams. Also thought having dyche we would be more solid defensively, plus effective on set pieces. We are shocking at defending set pieces and corners.

Shame we haven't got a wise man in the dugout

It's unrealistic to say that he's unsackable. If we get relegated, or, when we get relegated, it'll cost Moshiri and 777 hugely. Surely neither can sit back and watch us get relegated, it'll cost them a fortune.
It’s possible that if Moshiri and 777 agreed they could sack dyche but presumably the latter would want to approve whoever came in to replace him. And how they finance the payoffs etc could be complicated. If we lose next game though the pressure is right on him. If we bump around just above relegation and pick up the odd win I’d imagine he’ll be safe until the takeover is complete, if it completes.
