Should Ferguson have stayed as a coach or should he have looked to manage elsewhere?

Quick question. If Ferguson hadn't have gone bankrupt do you think he would give two monkeys about Everton? He certainly didn't before that and now he's the second biggest Blue on the planet (next to Kenwright)
Well he has invested his money and is very comfortable now so does not need Everton, yet here he is. Your stupid theory is just that...stupid

He’s well within his comfort zone and whilst Kenwright is involved he’ll never be sacked.

I mean he’s taken no blame whatsoever despite us being utterly crap the whole time he’s been involved. No manager has left and asked him to go with them, and it seems like no club wants him in charge of them.

Another cling on, stealing a living from Everton.
Or(more realistically) just a good coach that managers enjoy working with

I’m not sure why people feel they have to get the knives out when all he’s done is shown loyalty to the football club and stepped up (and down) whenever asked,
I also don’t understand why people are judging him for not applying for manager’s positions elsewhere.
He might just be a good coach who wants to work at Everton.
I also reckon he’s the sort who would walk if he felt he wasn’t wanted.

Exactly, I can only assume all those moaning about him are constantly applying for jobs hundreds of miles away even though they are happy where they work

We really are the bitterest bunch

Yeah, it must have been hell having to get paid as a coach and then getting a free (and unearned) shot to become the permanent manager of this club.

Evertonians: the softest touch of any PL fans.

I see nothing wrong with him staying as a coach with us if he has no aspirations of becoming a manager. Loves the club, the area, gets loads of money, and seemingly has a job for life. Wouldn't we all want that?

If he's saying he wants to go into management, though, he should already have left by now.

I think the fact he interviewed for the job shows that he does want to be a manager in the future, so I do struggle to see why he won't go and earn his stripes elsewhere.

I saw it as he’s a great servant at the club who is a more than adequate caretaker manager when needed.
Some would consider that an asset.

I doubt he cares Dave, hes getting paid to work for a club he loves and a job he enjoys.

Not everybody has an ego yano.
I think everybody has pride in their nature or should have, I think now is the time for Ferguson to start applying for jobs away from Goodison and Finch Farm while he has some semblance of a job here, nobody seems to know what that is or has been for the last few years with various managers.

He should've gone elsewhere to get experience imo. If he ever wants to have the manager's job here one day for real then he has to prove himself elsewhere first. If he's not arsed about being manager and is comfortable where he is and with what he's doing then that's fine but he has to accept the fact that a day may come when a manager is appointed that just doesn't want him around anymore and the longer he leaves this the more his other options will dry up.

If he wants to be a manger I am sure he has a plan, if he doesn't then I am sure he has a plan. If he doesn't have a plan then that is up to him.

It is not for me to have any opinions about what he should do with his life. I have never met the man personally.

I think that if a manager comes in and enjoys working with him, thinks he is doing a good job then it is fine by me.

Big Dunc is the footballers footballer...

Did right to stay if that is what he wants. Nothing wrong in being the respected coach amongst your footballing peers.

Don't matter what fans think about the back roon, especially after some Everton fans stood in support of a kopite manager.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure Carlo Ancelotti said “I’ll only take the managers job if I have Duncan Ferguson on the team”

Every other coach has been sacked or moved on, yet Dunc is still here. It’s a Kenwright decision and you know it.
Oh wow! Yo are another of those conspiracists that believes that 5 managers have been told they have to take Dunc or they cannot have the job!! Deluded doesnt even describe you
