Should Ferguson have stayed as a coach or should he have looked to manage elsewhere?

I really hope he's taken role as stop gap while he looks for a managerial role at lower level.

Hard to believe he's been interviewed for job, didn't get it, gets demoted + still stuck around.

If stories are to be believed he only was retained due to his relationship with Calvert. Frank understands if he is to get any short term success he must get Calvert back on track and this means keeping him happy.
I heard they go shopping together.

I understand him wanting to stay but think he prob should have left when Ancellotti did. Appreciate what hes done, but hes at the point of just being here as a token gesture.

Too much has been made of this , he works for Everton Football Club , he just has a bigger presence than others , what harm has he done , if he's asked to put cones out , corner flags , mow the grass , he'll do it .
Exactly this, he’s just another reason to moan for some fans
Why he cannot just be allowed to be happy as a coach at a club he loves in the area his family lives is beyond me

The final paragraph sums it up for me, He is an employee who until the sacking of Benitez had a clear responsibility for coaching.

I do not believe, if he enjoys his involvement with Everton, that he can be expected to resign and leave himself with no focus until he is able to secure a manager's position. If this scnario is correct then the dignity of both him and the club are preserved rather than giving him the sack.
Exactly, it would leave an incredibly sour taste if he was sacked immediately after being asked to step up and lead the team after Benitez departure.

Carlo clearly liked him, so there must be something to his coaching skills.,

He will be manager one day. I'm quite confident he'll be Everton manager after Lampard. Otherwide what was the point for both parties.?

He's loyal, he loves the club, he knows the club inside out. And Calvert Lewin and Lukaku both complimented him in making them improve their game.

Why get rid just for getting rids sake? I'm glad we have somebody like that. Someone who genuinely wants to be there and is good at their job. If he wasn't, why would Ancelotti want to take him to Real Madrid?

Hes ok, hes got a job thanks.

Remember when people laughed at Terry McDermott getting jobs off Keegan, and the line went that his drill top had the initial KM on it for Kevin's Mate?

That's the galloot: BM initials on his...Bill's Mate.

I mean, can he really watch on as Cashley Cole comes in and bumps him even further down the pecking order to just above Fred the doorman.

I doubt he cares Dave, hes getting paid to work for a club he loves and a job he enjoys.

Not everybody has an ego yano.
