Should Ferguson have stayed as a coach or should he have looked to manage elsewhere?

Should go, but He's presumably on a decent wage, maybe he CBAd moving.
Family's settled and happy enough?

"And Harry doesn't mind, if he doesn't,
make the scene.
He's got a daytime job,
he's doing alright.
He can play the Honky Tonk like anything
Savin' it up, for Friday night.
With the Sultans
We're the Sultans of Swing"

1 mans democracy is another mans bellendery.

I believe JFK said that.

He was living in Spain, he only came home cos he was offered a job here, hes not the enemy, FFS.

That last part is slightly inaccurate

He came home but he wasn't offered a job with us before he moved back.

Ferguson instantly binned off the trifecta of woe:

Coleman
Keane
Rondon

I think it was common sense for him to stay on until the summer to aid the new management team with 'inside' information and backgrounds on all the players.

Ha ha well done @davek a very cleverly worded avoidance of the original question
I totally agree that he would be well served by leaving and getting experience elsewhere ..... as you well know that was not the point of our debate
But I’ll step back from the discussion ——sometimes the walk isn’t worth the destination
suffice to say
I believe maNy many Everton fans have a high regard for D Ferguson ..... and wanting him to leave the club in his own terms to gain experience reflects that

Approve of the Dire Straits reference.

He's staying because he's comfortable - If he really wants to be a premier league manager he would be doing what Wayne and everyone else is doing, getting experience managing a lower level club.

Maybe, just maybe, the lad would find it difficult to disassociate himself from a club where fans turned up in their thousands to watch him play a reserve game following his release.

If he's got aspirations to be a manager he should have 'moved on', it worries me that he may be part of the problem so possibly should have been 'moved on' by Lampard.
