Well you say that, but the ref missed the handball yesterday, so would you still think no VAR is better/more enjoyable if it wasn't present yesterday and we still didn't get a pen?

I’d still think the referee was an incompetent bell end but I’d be less convinced of outright corruption.

They’ve had three or four years to get it right, and Mike Riley and his sycophants have singularly failed to do that! He was an incompetent referee at best and is still in charge of a system which has not improved at all since inception! Use it for clear and obvious errors only, and keep everyone fans, broadcasters and players informed in real time of the decisions being made! Any offside or hand ball decision that requires 10-15 views and takes more than 30 seconds is not a clear and obvious error!

I voted “No” just because I like the fact it makes the bias and cheating obvious for all to see. It’s always been there, but now it is so blatant, there can no longer be any of this “oh I didn’t see it!” Nonsense from the refs, now we all know, they give decisions to certain teams and not others

The system seems to work well for rugby.
Difference is that the conversation between the on field ref and the screen ref is available for all to hear.
Their explanation is clear to everybody whether they agree with it or not.
Time to let us know what is being said in our game.
Yes, Exactly this. Same as with cricket you can hear the third umpire talking to the on field umpires. The discussions should be broadcast.

I feel it needs to go back to what it was supposed to be for. Clear and obvious errors.
Non of this, toenail offside rubbish. But a blatant error.
I would change it as well to make the 4th official in charge of it. Flag sommat and the 4th official looks at the screen and makes the call. Has 30 seconds or so to call it. If it is obvious, he can easily do that. If it is not obvious, then crack on with the onfield call.
Simples.
It needs to do the opposite. The clear and obvious tag is what makes it shocking. They'll see a call like yesterday that is wrong but they then sit there for 5 minutes deciding if it is wrong enough to change. It's ridiculous.

Plenty of sports have a reasonable enough replay review system and football should look to these as a way to fix themselves. You can't scrap it. It does too much good when it is working.

That is where the time thing comes in. 30 seconds or whatever. 4th official looks at it. Has seconds to make their mind up. Stick it up on the big screen as well for everyone in the ground to see. Make decision then we move on. All done and dusted.

In fact I would even bring a bit of tennis/cricket into it. Make it so each team's captain has an appeal. Take it completely away from anybody outside the ground.

I'm 100% in every sport for replay being fully challenge based. It makes it part of the strategy of the game and managing it is completely fair for everyone.

Why isn't the camera in line for offsides? It's done my head in since it came in.
They can only have so many cameras in the ground. Having a camera perfectly in line for all offsides would either require an infinite number of cameras, or one that was mounted on a track that could move back and forth to stay in line with the last defender, exactly like the linesman does.
