Had an accident at work about 20 years ago. Left arm opened up from wrist to elbow, humerus bone snapped in half, still got metal rod and pins. Ulnar nerve severed, so left hand is numb and doesn’t work properly still to this day. 7 months of operations, plastic surgery and a nerve taken out of my leg to try and replace the severed nerve, however it didn’t work so have a numb left foot to go with my numb hand. Add to that I was trapped in the machine for 45 minutes. Safe to say I’ve had better days.

Faded a lot now, but about 20 years ago playing footie up the park. Tore up the wing, stretched to deliver a crip cross and this leg folded and skidded in my next step. Felt odd and when I looked down it had been surgically slit from knew cap to ankle, where I'd slid over a mown up drinks cam (thanks litter louts and Swindon council).

Quickly decided I probably shouldn't play on and drove myself to casualty. By the time I got there my footie boot was filled with blood and I left bloody footprints all the way into the hozzy.

Triage nurse had me straight in for a good session with a scrubbing brush and superglue back together.

Ended my sock modelling career.
