Sick days

If you're going to take a sick day, make sure it's due to work-related anxiety or something along those lines as it means you can still go out for the day etc.

I had a colleague who had a week off with work related stress, which was obviously cured by a few rounds of golf.

I had a month in Greece island hopping for that very reason, all signed off by my GP, as being beneficial to my recovery.

I have never been off sick in my life, work or school.

I never get sick though, or more the fact that I always feel vaguely sick so I don't know any different.

I am a machine.
My only sickness in the past five or so years has been COVID: one like death and one forced. I rarely feel worse than under the weather, so okay to go in.

If I stayed off and could actually get out of bed and do stuff, the wife would have a list of jobs to do - it ain't worth it.

My missus boss ( NHS ) usually has more time off with sick and carers leave every year, than actual days in work.

Most sick days coincide with the weekends / school holidays / Christmas etc.

This has been going on for years and due to the fact that all of the bosses above her, are just “ passing through “ on their way to their next promotion, non are willing to risk getting bogged down in a potential tribunal.

So she just gets left to do what she wants.

Oh and she also does private medical legal stuff in works time too.
Yeah, shocking what goes on.

I felt guilty for having 8 days out with Covid earlier this year, ffs.

If you are a salaried employee, why would you not take days off sick?

I don't get it, it only benefits the company and not you
Yeah, presenteeism is stupid too. Usually means someone comes in with a bug because "it's just a sniffle" then gives it everyone else. Before probably having to take sick leave anyway.

On the other hand, there's defo some high grade lead swinging that goes on too.

Does she post for you too - makes sense ?

When I started at my current job, a colleague claimed exactly the same thing.
Two weeks later she took 4 days sick leave because her cat died the weekend before.
