I think that'll be the position we throw what money we have at, myself. Not sure we could budget for two midfielders wages, but then I don't know our budget.

Nathko and Defour arent on massive wages atm mate, would fit into the wage structure at the team fine, then again both would be a problem as i'm guessing they will both want substantial game time, which bringing them both would ensure would be reduced, of the two i'd go for defour as think he's more likely to adjust quicker and with belgium in the wrold cup will be desperate to impress his national manager

Although Nathko is boss like, can see him at Schalke or Dortmund and playing a blinder for them

being completely honest as well, i've wanted Defour at everton ever since we played them years back and at like 19 he looked the best player on the park, then we went for fellaini instead, friends who follow porto reckon whenever he's been given a chance he's looked good though, just for whatever reason people keep moving past him in the depth chart for his role

Yeahhhh. Two midfielders isn't a desperate requirement, eats away at our budget wage wise.
Gauld seems an odd one to get now to me tbh. Unless we are trying to pip somebody to get him, an 18 year old winger for a couple of million when other positions take precedent doesn't quite make sense.

Yes, several times. His movement, awareness of space and his technique are very very good, especially for someone so young

I go to watch Derby loads with the father-in-Law (he's a massive Rams fan), honestly don't see what all the fuss is about. Tidy player, but you could get a foreign player of the same quality for half the amount.

Fellaini sold for £27m, knock a couple of mill off for the sell on fee to Liege.

McCarthy bought for £13m leaves £12m. Loan fees/wages for Barry and Lukaku leaves £9m or so.

Then you've got the issue of agents fees.

We wouldn't have £10m left over.

Yeah, but we had a mill or 2 left over before the sales of Felli & Vic and before we bought and loaned the likes of Macca, Barry & Lukaku and then the £4m we got upfront for Vic, but yeah, once you had everything up, we haven't got as much to spend as some think.

I reckon about, anything from £7m-9, 10m maybe?. That's why we'll only sell Jela and not on the cheap either, Martinez wants as much as poss so he can replace him with someone decent.

People seem to be forgetting that the McCarthy purchase was NOT dependant upon the Fellaini sale. There's 3 players we need. Another CM to cover the loss/injury to Barry/McCarthy. For me that'll be Noble from West Ham, that lad knows how to pass. A quick, young winger (Pienaar has been alright this season, but he's ageing). RM knows the Spanish market and could find someone from there, and finally a finisher. Berbatov would be ideal (I'm sure you'll disagree and could point me in a different area), we've become quite amazing at building up play and getting the ball into the box, we need someone who'll score 9/10 chances with the ball at their feet in the box.

Do you really believe that?. Even though before selling Felli we bid for McCarthy and Wigan laughed it off, Whelan himself told SSN the bid was a joke, little upfront then rest on never, never?!. Felli goes and we give em £13m straight up, that's how I saw it. IF it wasn't dependant, then we'd of signed him a lot earlier in the window!.
