Think he's decent, but there's better out there probably available for a similar fee West Brom would want if they were to sell him to another Prem side. They'd probably be looking for £6/£7 mil. - whereas a player like Fernando (who is much more of a complete player) could well be available for under £10 mil., depending if Porto aren't willing to offer him a new deal.

Fernando is on a free at the end of the season.

Being honest, if Landon genuinely wanted to come here, he wouldnt of signed a new deal. Could have signed on a free then.

He may be near the end of his career, but I wouldn't count on him signing as a free. You'd be competing against every US-based MLS club with an open designated player slot, because he's still one of the best players in that league and he's the figurehead of US soccer. Having him on the field puts people in the seats.

Yeh like MartSlinger said, we'd have the better chance of signing him for actually money than on a free, if you get what I mean. Anyway, we need the reinforcements now, not in the summer.

He's a quality player and somebody who'd help us get Champs League - meaning we (somehow) might be able to keep Baines, Lukauku etc.

Heitinga of the day:

''Robert Jansen, the agent of Everton defender John Heitinga, has told calciomercato.it that his client could be heading to Italy during the winter transfer window – with Fiorentina and Napoli said to be keen on the Holland international.''

Nothing new really... But at least he'll be gone.

I do know on Monday that behind closed doors they were discussing Heitinga's future at the club, going through the players club image at Everton etc.

How much would you imagine we'd get for him?

500 thousand would be what I expect, though the tosh we save on his wages is an even bigger gain. With Alcaraz getting fit, I see no reason to keep Johnny around on 60k a week.
